We are only a two-block walk to the lake and are approximately five miles from Big Boulder/Jack Frost Ski Resorts. The chalet is perfect for couples, families, and friends. We want our home to be your home away from home! Once you step into our chalet, you will enjoy all the amenities we offer in this 1,300 sq. ft., light and airy home, such as the spacious living room with wood-burning fire place, dining area and modern kitchen equipped with new stove, microwave and dishwasher, all appliances and kitchen utensils. You will enjoy three tastefully decorated and comfortable bedrooms (including two, Queen-sized, Eurotop mattresses), two baths, one with over-sized tub. There is air conditioning on the first floor for your comfort. Each bedroom has ceiling fans. We provide all the necessities, including bed linens, towels, washer/dryer, a large 42' flat screen TV with streaming over 1,000 movies and TV channels in living room area, games, puzzles, etc. Amenities: Living room has flat-screen TV plus streaming throughout. There is a DVD player in the living room. Two second floor bedrooms have streaming in each room with a 19" and a 38" flat-screen TV. You may bring your laptop and hook into our high-speed internet connection. We have a large outside deck with outdoor furniture, charcoal grill, and a balcony overlooking the deck from the master bedroom with a beautiful view of the backyard landscape. Towamensing Trails is a private vacation spot offering many activities in and around the area. There is a beach and swimming area, a 135-acre lake for fishing, an outdoor swimming pool, a kiddie pool for your young children, clubhouse with video games and pool table, lakefront restaurant/bar along with tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts. We are close to many area attractions such as Big Boulder/Jack Frost/Camelback Ski Resorts, Historic Jim Thorpe, Lake Harmony, Pocono Raceway, two nearby Casinos, and many area restaurants. If you like to hike, there are three state parks in the area. Activities: Activities in the area: Hickory Run, Beltzville, and the Lehigh Gorge. This state park is ideal for rafting, kayaking, and biking along its 26-mile trail. If you are a shopping enthusiast, you will enjoy visiting the Tannersville Outlet Mall near Camelback. A well-kept secret near Jim Thorpe is Penn's Peak where you can enjoy live concerts, a restaurant, and the most magnificent view of the Pocono Mountains. Visit Jim Thorpe, the Switzerland of the Poconos, with majestic views, small town charm, quaint restaurants and shops, and an enjoyable train ride through the Lehigh Valley (45 minutes roundtrip). There are vintage coal mines to explore and many wonderful walking and hiking trails. If fishing is your calling, explore the many lakes throughout the area. It was great to be able to bring our dog as well. He also enjoyed himself.. The house is even cozier than listing implies (which is already pretty cozy), the space and layout accommodated my family perfectly, and we found all of the cleaning and cooking essentials we needed easily and plentifully. Christine is also an exceptional host who address all of our needs beforehand and decorated her home for us ahead of our arrival. Wanda's Dream is worth 500 stars! It is such a gorgeous, lovely home, which is spacious with all the comforts, and is decorated beautifully in such a cozy manner. And its location is incredible. We loved staying here and this will be our go to place whenever we get a few days time off, because I cannot think of a better place to relax and vacation at. Christine is such a wonderful host and such a lovely lady, with excellent taste - and she has the most beautiful house in the most gorgeous place. I didn't want to leave! So close to everything - Jim Thorpe, Big Boulder, Lake Harmony and Mount Airy Casino we have so many reasons to go back. Because it's been so dry this fall the leaves weren't that vibrant but having so many other things to do and places to eat made us forget the leaf peeping. Our dog loved hanging out on the porch and staring back at the deer who were constant companions in the back yard area. Saw some turkeys as well so it was great to get back to nature! House is very cozy and has everything you'll need. Lots of vintage books and games. Christine is a wonderful, hands-on owner and answered all of our questions ahead of time as well as providing great recommendations for local restaurants and stores. Pretty lakes and parks to explore and only 12 miles to Jim Thorpe, a wonderful place to visit anytime but especially in autumn. The home has a comfortable living area, first floor master bedroom and a very nice second floor with two nice bedrooms and full bath. We enjoyed waking up each morning to watch the plentiful deer and turkeys roaming about the back yard. Christine was great in communicating everything and very responsive. In fact when we booked her home she checked in with a phone call probably less than an hour later. And she was in Italy! ##### Mark A. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and living space was very comfortable. The neighborhood amenities (beach, pool, playground) were family friendly and we were within a half hour to lots of hiking, biking, and family fun (Jim Thorpe train ride, Country Junction petting zoo, etc.). Christine was very helpful and informative throughout the entire process. Each room was clean, spacious, and welcoming, and we especially enjoyed the amenities that we haven't experienced at other Pocono houses (dishwasher, air conditioning, linens included). We had plenty of room for two adults and three small children, and our children especially enjoyed the spacious back deck and the abundance of deer and other wildlife.
