When is the best time to go to Al Haffa?

The best time to go to Al Haffa is during the Khareef season, which runs from June to early September, or in the shoulder months of May and October. The Khareef season transforms the normally arid landscape into a lush, green paradise due to the monsoon rains. Temperatures are significantly cooler and more pleasant than in other parts of Oman, often staying in the mid-20s Celsius. This period is ideal for those who want to experience the unique natural beauty of the region, with its misty mountains and flowing wadis. For travellers looking for a quieter experience with good weather, the shoulder months of May and October are excellent. The temperatures are warm but not excessively hot, and the crowds from the Khareef season have either not yet arrived or have dispersed.

"It was amazing stay, I highly appreciate the staff special thanks to Jine ( in the recipient) he was very professional and went out of his way all the time, very helpful, all the staff very supportive and make you feel very VIP. I am definitely going to return to this hotel. Massage was amazing, the pool well maintained, the rooms were very large and clean and the most important they treat guest with high respect and very generous. Maybe one area for improvement would be the breakfast...

"The hotel is centrally located with ample parking. The room is quite comfortable and large. And the staff are willing to assist. There is a large green space in the rear (shared with the nearby restaurants and shops) with a children’s playground. There are not really any decent restaurants nearby sadly… just some coffee shops and some weakly rated bites. Delicato is well rated and walkable with generous portions but the foodies will be disappointed. Hotel breakfast is ok. Best to go with...

The Plaza Hotel and Resort

8/10 Good

"The hotel is centrally located with ample parking. The room is quite comfortable and large. And the staff are willing to assist. There is a large green space in the rear (shared with the nearby restaurants and shops) with a children’s playground. There are not really any decent restaurants nearby sadly… just some coffee shops and some weakly rated bites. Delicato is well rated and walkable with generous portions but the foodies will be disappointed. Hotel breakfast is ok. Best to go with custom made omelets. Otherwise the buffet options - although heated - are surprisingly cold. All in all a nice stay and place to rest the head after sightseeing but would not describe as a resort experience."

Millennium Resort Salalah

8/10 Good

"Good location with ample free parking for anyone with a rental vehicle. Buffet breakfast was fine and the staff are fantastic and very helpful. The hotel itself is showing its age with stained carpet, leaking plumbing and both pool ladders corroded to the point of failure. However the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean and the air conditioning is very effective."

Salalah Gardens Hotel Managed by Safir Hotels & Resorts

10/10 Excellent

"I arrived at 11am very tired and was immediately able to check into my room. The room was spacious and clean. I used the pool and breakfast was good, you could order omelettes at the counter. All the staff were extremely helpful and the hotel is located close to a mall and lots of eating places so no need for a taxi in the evening. Recommend and would stay again!"
