It is a pleasantly relaxing property (after getting settled in). Upon entering the upper gate there is a steep decent on the beautiful rock slab stairs. It is much like hiking going down and up especially. After opening the front door you find the bedrooms, two with a beautiful view of the lake! The stairs going down to the main part of the house are long and steep. So, between the two sets of stairs, if you're bringing alot of luggage and groceries, be prepared for extreme exercise. However, once you arrive downstairs this is where the magic happens. The windows and doors provide an amazing view of the lake and allow easy access to the deck and patio. The backyard has multiple hangout areas to watch the boats, the ducks and listen to the charming clocktower. The hotub and firepit add extra relaxation. The kitchen area and living room are comfortable to hang out in. There is a roomy, comfy couch and large TV. This is truly a "Slice of heaven". You get a better view of the little lake than you can tell from the photos. The area was quiet at night.Shoes off at the door was a little tricky, because it was at the top of the stairs. Everything was clean and kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Loved that we could bring our dog and that the yard is fully fenced. Portage lakes is such a fun environment, we all had a wonderful stay. Those stairs coming down to the property are killer, would not recommend for 70 year olds. ##### Linda S. Property is welcoming, well-stocked and perfect for families! We enjoyed all of the amenities and were pleasantly surprised that a couple items we needed were available. The kids enjoyed the games and kayaks; the adults enjoyed the outdoor space and appreciated the multiple sitting areas. The property owner was exceptionally responsive, accommodating and helpful. It was a very nice and clean house. The property manager stayed in communication and was very helpful. We also hiked at Cuyahoga Valley NP which is only about 25-30 minutes away from the house. The only thing I would caution anyone about is there are lots of stairs and the pictures of the ones in the front of the house are deceiving, they are bigger than they look. Also two bigger rooms are upstairs when you first walk in and everything else is downstairs. The two bigger rooms also share a bathroom. ##### Diane G. It was a great size for the 8 of us and the property was beautiful!! The host was super responsive and was able to fix the temperature for us immediately when I reached out to say it was a little warm in the house. The only thing I would warn future guests about is a tiny 1” ledge that runs through the middle of the main area that we kept tripping on until we used a reflective piece of decoration I had brought on the step to help remind us.
