Great location close to Taj, but at what cost? First let me state that we are from the US and our standards are different than in other parts of the world (not better or worse, just different) BUT!!! Where to begin? Bare exposed wires hanging all round, light fixtures with no bulbs, no heat, (it was around 15C in the morning when we got ready to leave) towels that were at best rags, bed sheets with stains, tv that would not work, breakfast was 4 pieces of toast and a pat of butter, (not what was told to us when booking) We were awaken at 6:30 am with an attempt to deliver hot water via small bucket. The staff was ok, but clearly put off when was asked for toilet paper because there was none on the dispenser in the bathroom. Dès mon arrivée à l’hôtel, j’ai eu la surprise de l’absence de l’eau chaude dans la chambre. J’ai demandé à l’accueil, ils ont décidé de me changer la chambre, mais pareil! Finalement j’ai pu comprendre que l’eau chaude est disponible entre 6h et 9h du matin et il faut laisser couler l’eau 20mins avant d’avoir l’eau chaude. Je me suis rendu compte que le personnel n’ont rien compris de ce que je raconte!! Pour cela ils ont décidé de me changer la chambre. Le pire c’est la clientèle de l’hôtel. En majorité des indiens irrespectueux, mal polis et très très bruants. Jusqu’à 3h du matin je n’ai pas pu fermer les yeux à cause d’une famille qui arrivait vers 23h du soir. Ils ont fait un boucan. J’ai demandé poliment de faire moins de bruit à la famille et ça n’a pas marché. J’ai demandé à l’accueil, pareil!!! Finalement j’ai laissé tomber!! Aussi, j’ai demandé les horaires de l’ouverture de Taj Mahal à l’hôtel, ils m’ont confirmé que c’est à 6h du matin. Je me suis pointé à 5h45 pour l’ouverture et ma surprise, l’ouverture c’était à 7h!! ##### Bas Stayed 3 nights in Dec 2017 Verified ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller 22 Oct 2017 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort This is a hotel that really didn´t match up to information on booking site. Stayed during four nights and was very dispappointed. The only thing good about this hotel was location, nice view from top of hotel and bed. No one spoke English (until one day a girl turned up in lobby and she was vey helpful), TV didnt work and even though we asked for help all time nothing happended, no cleaning, no new towels, very dirty bathroom, no toilet paiper, stained linen in bed. Bad services, not possible to pay by card. No services on top roof bar, no personel. Food took hours to get - if you found any to order from - and then they couldnt deliver all things from meny. Would not stay again or rekommend. I paid extra for view overlooking city - we looked into a wall of building opposite. First room we were shown had a very leeking toilet and we refused to accept that room and got another. The dancer in the foyer was a great welcome but it was down hill from then on. Stained bed linen, shower fittings hanging off the wall too badly to use. Although the restaurant staff are very lovely, the level of service and hygiene is terrible. Hard to clean your teeth looking into the basin looked like no cleaning materials used. Sadly the roof view was the reason we picked this hotel over others. The room was very basic but generally clean.The wall was water damaged on the opposite side from the shower so we did not risk using the electric sockets on that side of the room. The sheets were grey and stained but appeared clean. The beds were comfortable and the Air con and free wifi worked. The TV did not work and there was a pot of what looked like yogurt in the fridge from, presumably, previous occupant. Likewise the bathroom was basic, functional and had been cleaned but very dilapidated. Breakfast in the basement was farcical with one half broken toaster to service the guests, an extremely limited choice of items and a scary dripping aircon unit that caused guests to slip on the puddle beneath it and more worryingly a sure risk or legionnaires disease! As we had prepaid our breakfast we were taken to the hotel next door which was an improvement with a view of the outside world and a buffet with a reasonable selection of items. As we were checking out at 5am I was assured that as I had prepaid there would be eggs, sandwiches and 'everything' waiting for me on the reception counter and the reception 'boy' would be there to check us out. Unsurprisingly the reality was a fast asleep reception boy and no breakfast. Everything is dirty and both rooms stank - one from damp/mould and one from strong chemicals used to mask the damp/mould. The bathroom was dirty, the bedsheets had oil spots and dirt on them and the roof terrace and dining room all needed a good clean. Shower was cold for the first five minutes. We went up for dinner on the roof and the tables had empty bottles all over them and no one to take orders. We arrived at 9pm where there was an exhausted child in the lobby to dance for guests. Although this seems to happen in many hotels in Agra. The positives were that the beds were very comfortable and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. They also organised a car with an excellent and welcoming driver to take us to our next destination.
