"A really nice backpackers hostel. The rooms were well put together and warm during the winter. Lots of space in the kitchen and lounge and bathrooms are being renovated. Staff were really helpful and hospitable - I'd stay here again, for sure. One of the most comfortable places I have stayed on my trip through NZ."

"Very well equipped family bach. We loved the location, looking out across the bay. The kayak was a highlight too. My only suggestion would be to bring your slippers as I got quite cold feet despite the heat pump, open fire and radiators in the bedrooms. The host was generally quick to respond and very helpful. "Four of us (adults) stayed for a long weekend. The weather was rubbish so stayed a large part of that indoors playing games. The lounge was warm and spacious so it suited us just fine. The place sleeps nine which meant one of the bedrooms, i felt, was a bit cluttered with beds and hard to get around. Overall very happy and would stay again"
