The countryside is particularly picturesque in late spring with everything in bloom, and in early autumn when the vineyards are vibrant with colour. It's a lovely time for leisurely walks, cycling, and enjoying outdoor dining without the heat of mid-summer or the chill of winter.Couples looking for a romantic and tranquil getaway will find these periods ideal. The region is less crowded than in peak summer, allowing for more intimate experiences at local wineries and historic sites like the Château de Belvoir, which is a short drive from Abbenans. The cooler evenings also make for cosy dinners in local auberges.Families travelling with children will also appreciate these shoulder seasons. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for outdoor activities like exploring the nearby Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges, which offers numerous hiking trails suitable for various ages.
