It's an older hotel that is looking a little tired but was clean & functional. The breakfast was very nice & the staff friendly. The location on the hill was quite lovely & close to the museums that we wanted to visit. The hotel was clean and quiet with a friendly staff and a great view it our window. The onsen was bright and inviting with a single large pool and a sauna. There was a free washer dryer available, but it's operation wasn't simple.
