Beautiful hotel with large pool areas. Completely separate pool for children meaning the pool area for adults was calm and peaceful. Definitely need a car as the hotel is not near Carlsbad itself or the beach and is a good 30 miles down the I5 from San Diego. We choose the hotel as it is next to a great golf complex overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The large oak panelled room opened up onto a spacious veranda overlooking the eighteen green and ocean beyond. The staff were friendly and efficient. Several dining options from very casual in the snug bar to fine dining in the restaurant, all with great food. We stayed three nights and wished it was longer.
