Guesthouse Svartiskógur Egilsstaðir
10/10 Excellent
"Room was very comfortable with a full kitchen! Parking was right outside our room. Camping spots are available as well. Property is not where hotels.com states. It is a good 30-40 minutes away from the town, off the main road and then about 5 miles on a dirt road. I had to call for directions because the map on hotels.com took me to an empty farm field. Restaurant is available but make sure to come early as it’s served until 8:30pm. Actually everything in town closes early. So don’t wait to eat in this town if you’re coming in late. Couldn’t find any food at 9:30pm. Breakfast was small and just cold items. Staff was great. Good property overall!"
Seyðisfjörður Guesthouse
10/10 Excellent
"We travelled mid- September. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient for walking the town or accessing hiking trails. The view from the guesthouse is fabulous. The host was on site when we arrived and back again in the morning which was nice. The kitchen and eating area were fabulous. We had the opportunity to do our laundry. We had a room upstairs and there was one WC and a separate shower area. There was a second shower downstairs. Bonus points for a great coffee machine so I could start the day with a cappuccino."
Hotel Studlagil
8/10 Good
"It’s good for one night stay."
Hotel 1001 Nott
8/10 Good
"The hotel was super clean, comfortable and the staff friendly. The breakfast was good but dinner was not so good. Not worth what they are charging. I recommend staying here but eat dinner somewhere else."
Hildibrand Hotel
8/10 Good
"The room was very clean. It was very hard to get into with the key. He struggled for quite some time. There were no local restaurants except for their restaurant, which supposedly opened only two days ago and had a very limited menu. The women in the restaurant did a great job trying to make a cocktail and the pizza was delicious."
Fosshotel Eastfjords
10/10 Excellent
"While all the staff was very helpful and attentive, Borja managed to stand out. It is evident that he enjoys helping people."
Hotel Eyvindará
8/10 Good
"Excellent property with amazing views. Very good breakfast and there is a bar, as well. They have a hot tub, but we did not use it. Rooms are very small, but manageable. Parking is easy. We love everything about this property, but it’s a good 15 minute drive to the town of Akureyri, where the restaurants and shops are."
