Good place. Great advice from behind the reception desk for things to do and eat. The only weird thing was the breakfast every morning. 2 toasters for heaps of people. Everyone crowding around the toasters like it was the 2nd coming of christ. Highly recommended
For a few nights stay in the heart of Dublin, this is your place. We did have a very small room with an even smaller bathroom on the top floor, no lift, but it was clean and comfy and we had the 7 euro breakfast one morning which set us up for the day. The location is perfect for sightseeing and ...
Location is excellent. A ten minute walk from Temple Bar and the city centre, O'Connell Street etc. Plenty of food outlets, cafes, bars nearby. Staff were very friendly and checking in was easy as was checking out. The bedroom was sparse (not unexpected in a hostel) and the bed was two single bed ...
Stayed two nights. Best location. Walking distance to everything. Some fantastic food in crawling distance. Try FX Buckleys for steak (if you can get in). Staff were welcoming and fun. Some great music in the bar though still quiet in our room. Our 2nd stay here ... wont hesitate to stay in the same ...
Great location and clean accommodations. We stayed in the apartments--which would be an ideal set up for an extended family group. There were 4 separate bedrooms with a shared kitchen/living area/and 2 baths.
Difficulties with the hot water system. No tea and coffee facilities in the room. No variation to cooked breakfast although they will do scrambled egg for you.
Ashbourne, in County Meath, is just a short hop from Dublin so super convenient for anyone looking for a two star hotel out of the city but within easy striking distance from it. The accommodation on offer is particularly useful if you plan to fly out of Dublin Airport, which is a short distance away — no need to get up at crazy hours if you have an early flight.
The Ashbourne area is also a great base for exploring many heritage sites, as well as Dublin City with all its delights. It has easy access to the coast with its beautiful beaches and is close to countless golf courses, if that’s your sport. For two star accommodation, whatever your requirements, Ashbourne is a versatile choice.
In Ashbourne itself you can find a hotel with every amenity you are likely to need, at reasonable cost, benefiting from a central position, yet only a few minutes from the countryside, golf clubs and the Fairyhouse Racecourse. For business purposes, there are meeting rooms and free Wi-Fi. For a celebration, make the most of the nightclub, bar and lounge. Coffee-makers and cable TV come as standard in every room. You can eat in at some hotels but there is a variety of restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaways in the town if you would like to eat out.
If you prefer a more tranquil setting, then the Ashbourne area is well stocked with two star guesthouses, close to the town, but still enjoying rural views and peace. The facilities to be found are exceptional, whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple, with your family or a large group. You can find single, double, twin, family and quadruple rooms and apartments, some self-catering if you wish, and some extra special gems with a jacuzzi tub.
The bed and breakfast accommodation provided is ideal for those wishing to tour around the area, using the guesthouse as a comfortable base, even offering 24-hour continental breakfast if you want to set out very early for whatever reason.
Staying in the Ashbourne area in your two star guesthouse or hotel gives you easy access to theme parks such as Tayto Park, which is only 10 minutes away from the town, heritage sites, equestrian events, rugby — Croke Park is nearby — and other entertainment such as paintballing and go-karting. Ashbourne is a perfect base to explore the Republic of Ireland, perfect for any budget.
