"Clean and nice staff"

"The room was filthy… the lamp shades has stains inside that looked like residue from bed bugs, both double beds were lopsided and one of the mattresses had a huge piss stain on it. The windows were dirty and the carpet was extra filthy with stains and dirt tracks everywhere. That room (4041) should have never been allowed to be used. When I told the Manager (Derrick) and showed him pictures, his only concern seem to be the lamp shades. The QR codes on the desk and in the elevator didn’t work, when I finally got one that did let us order room service, the room service never came. Terrible look for the Hilton chain, I will never use that hotel again. That room was worse than a motel 6….never again!!"

"We really liked this place and would definitely stay here again! We specifically searched for a modern, clean hotel at a reasonable price that also offered free on-site parking for our trip to NYC. Since we were renting a car, the parking situation was a major factor for us, and we quickly found that almost none of the surrounding hotels in Long Island City offered free parking. If they did have parking, it was usually $25–$35 per night and sometimes located off-site several blocks away. The LY Hotel checked every box for us, and we actually enjoyed our stay enough that we extended it from one night to two. The rooms were modern, spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Our first night by chance, was in a handicap-accessible room, which had a noticeably larger bathroom than the standard room we stayed in the second night. The standard bathroom was definitely on the smaller side, so larger guests may find it a bit tight. On a minor note, there were no microwaves in the rooms although I beleive one was available to guests in the lobby and there were no luggage stands in the rooms which are always helpful. What really stood out, though, was how friendly and accommodating the staff was throughout our stay. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Overall, the LY Hotel turned out to be an excellent choice for our trip. For the price, cleanliness, free parking, and overall experience, we honestly felt it was one of the best values in the area."

"Pretty awful. I like the neighborhood - there’s a great organic supermarket next door - and the price was right given its graduation season. I arrived around 11 but my room wasn’t ready - fine - so I checked my bag. The woman at the desk didn’t tell me the desk closed at night. I got back at 9:30 - busy day - and couldn’t get in the building. A returning guest let me in. I had a difficult time accessing the self-check-in kiosk. The thing wanted a confirmation number that wasn’t my hotels.com reservation number. After half an hour, I figured it out, thanks to a guest who saw I was struggling and told me he had the same problems the first time he stayed there. In the meantime, I let in two guests whose keys didn’t activate the front door. The room was small, which is fine, but the walls aren’t really soundproofed so I heard the tv from the room next door. There’s next to no water pressure in the shower. There’s no WiFi password to be found in the room. I was there for less than 12 hours. Bed was ok. Lots of street noise from 2nd Avenue. I’d suggest checking people in early, giving them a key activated for 3 PM. That doesn’t solve the problem of the keys not working to get in the front door. Luckily, my bag, stored, was behind a curtain by the desk so I was able to get it. Breakfast was basic, no orange juice, no butter or jam for the croissants. The place could be nicer with competent management. This is the most negative hotels.com review for me. "
