Lovely cabin conveniently located in Yosemite Park
I booked this cabin for a family trip to Yosemite, and this was my first time using VRBO. The communication with the property’s owner was great. I received all of the information in advance of my stay. The cabin is centrally located right in Yosemite, only 30 minutes from Oakhurst and Yosemite Valley. The kitchen contained nearly everything we needed to enjoy family meals, and having the fireplace with plenty of firewood came in handy during the chilly nights. Overall my family and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. With that said, I would like to make 2 suggestions. First, I would highly recommend checking the deck for any needed repairs because there are some splintered areas and areas where nails have popped up over time. This would allow renters to enjoy the deck more. Second, the cabin had the appearance that it hadn’t been rented in a while because there were a lot of cobwebs, dead insects on the floor, and the toilets had rings in them. I’m sure the property is cleaned between renters but it would be nice to check it again for a light cleaning if there are long gaps between rentals.

Cabin in Wawona
A group of high school friends, now in our 60s, stayed for 3 nights at the cabin. The location was excellent, with a village store right down the street, some hiking trails close by, and the Giant Sequoia Grove a short drive. The cabin was well furnished and we had all we needed there. It was about a 45 minute drive to Yosemite village.

Alpine Paradise stay
Our family stayed at the home for a summer visit to Yosemite. It is was adequate and comfortable for our group. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the cabin because we were out doing activities. The location is convenient to a lot of the park (about and hour from Yosemite Valley). Overall it was a good stay, and we didn’t have any problems with the house.

Clean, but very dated.
Loved being in the park and we were not on the property much because we were hiking so much. Had everything we needed. No exhaust fans in bathrooms, windows didn’t lock and deck was rotting in places and many nails sticking up. If we had young kids with us, we would have been really concerned.

We had a great stay. The property was very convenient to the Valley and Glacier road. It was great having a store right around the corner for groceries. The rooms and house were exactly as advertised and great for a family of 4 with two teenagers as they had their own room.

Wonderful stay
Our family of 5 had a wonderful visit to Yosemite, and we were so grateful to be able to stay in this cabin. Dan was great about answering questions. The Wawona community includes a wide variety of homes. This one, while not new or fancy, was extremely well-maintained and immaculately clean. Our teenagers affectionately said this cabin had a “vintage vibe”. I recommend buying groceries in Oakhurst before you reach the park. The two stores in Wawona are very small and quite pricey, as you might expect. For example, one of them didn’t seem to have dishwasher detergent, and the other had a package of 15 dishwashing tablets for $9. We really enjoyed cooking on the nice propane grill here. I found the kitchen a bit small, but the deck was spacious and the grill was fantastic. We didn’t need the AC during our visit, but the central heat did a great job of keeping us warm on chilly nights. We had no cell service, so we were grateful for the Wi-Fi, which worked perfectly. The park service was conducting controlled burns in Yosemite Valley during our stay (late-May 2021), so we were grateful to find some wonderful hikes outside of the Valley: we explored the Mariposa Grove up to Wawona Point; Dewey Point off of the Glacier Point Road was a break for our weary feet; and Chilnualna Falls was a gem! We walked to the Chilnualna Falls trailhead from the cabin (less than a mile), and enjoyed a fabulous day on the trail—we hardly saw another person. The many levels of falls were stunning! We were also really thankful that we were staying outside of the Valley so that we could escape the smoke. We were glad to be staying in the quiet little community of Wawona.

Cosy Cabin
Great location in Wawona. This cabin was a great getaway for us.The cabin was clean and the beds comfortable. Chilnualna Falls trailhead is nearby - great hike with lovely views. There is a small grocery store at the end of the street. The owner is very responsive to your emails. Would recommend this for anyone looking to stay inside the park.

Fantastic getaway
This was a fantastic option for anyone considering visiting Yosemite National Park. The location is only ~45 min drive to the Valley floor and the small town makes you feel very welcomed. There is a great store for all your grocery needs within walking distance of the cabin. Dan was a great host and very responsive to our questions. Our group had originally planned to go in September but the wildfires in the area were causing a lot of smoke and uncomfortable conditions. Dan was kind enough to let us reschedule to November and even offered us an extra night for free. Needless to say, the generosity and hospitality provided made our trip truly memorable. On top of that, the cabin is perfect for a small or large group. Wifi was solid, heater was helpful, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking appliances.

Wawona Cabin
The place was spacious for our group of two families. The kitchen had new pots and pans which was nice to use. Other than that the kitchen supply was lacking. Make sure you bring firewood. They supplied enough for a nights fire. Overall it was great, I would book again. There is a great place to hike which is not that far. Chilnualna falls is amazing. The Yosemite falls is about 1 and 30 minutes so be prepared for the drive . We had to supply our own trash bags which was weird if were required to throw our our trash. Also, be careful of the right rear burner on the stove. The flame randomly went out and then we noticed with the gas smell.

Thank you for your review. We hope you enjoyed our very large rock fireplace and new furniture which adds to the ambience of the home. We would like to note that there is a garage full of dry wood for our guests. There is one day supply inside the house next to the fireplace and ample additional wood in the garage. The kitchen is fully supplied with all necessary dishes, glasses, 14 new pots and pans, knives, silverware etc. The usual drive from our home is 30 to 45 minutes to the valley. The only reason it might’ve been longer was because of the new 3 feet of snow and the road conditions due to the recent wind and snow storms.

Great place to visit with your family
The place was clean and overall as described. We really enjoyed the neighborhood and the swimming hole. We hiked some really nice trails. We had a little challenge with the internet on the first day (it took a while to figure out that the box was simply unplugged - we initially thought it was the outlet). Need to bring your own shampoo, soap, etc. Owner should probably provide sponges, sweepers, etc. We were expected to leave the place clean and had to buy the these items ourselves in order to comply.

We always supply bath and hand soap as well as dish soap, and dishwasher soap and a kitchen sponge. You can always call our on-site managers if you need additional soaps or supplies. We only ask our renters to empty the trash and do their dishes. There is a dishwasher in the house. We do not expect our guests to clean the house or sweep. The house does have WiFi and Dish TV , but sometimes it takes a little patience if for some reason it is not working. Again there is always someone available to help if need be.

A nice enough cabin with functional amenities in a very cute area. The deck would make the house five stars, but its treacherous--nails sticking up and splintery, so tough for young kids to play on.

Hi Unfortunately the changes in weather causes the wood to contract and expand and sometimes loosens the nails. While we continually try to care for the expansive deck on a regular basis, we will certainly recheck it again.

Very special home inside Yosemite -- perfect for our family vacation
We stayed 4 nights in this home and it was perfect for our family of 7. The home is single level with 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. It also has a lovely large deck off of the kitchen. You can't beat the location -- in the town of Wawona inside Yosemite. (Just keep in mind that Yosemite is huge which means it's still a trip to get to the rest of the park. :) ) Our only issue was slow drains in the kitchen and the shower, but I'm sure it's something that will be easily fixed for the next guest.

Relaxing stay in Wawona
Cute cabin in the woods. Loved the little town Wawona!! Everybody was super friendly. They had a book sale for the library and we ended up winning a prize in the raffle - a beautiful intricate birdhouse handcrafted by a resident. We went fishing locally and enjoyed swimming in the rivers. I went running through the large Sequoias. Really a great spot. With all of the Labor Day traffic it took us a long time (1.5 hours plus) to get to the Yosemite sites - so plan accordingly.

This home was very clean and lived up to all of our expectations. Not knowing the Yosemite park area, we didn’t spend much time in Wawona or Mariposa Grove but drove every morning early up to the Yosemite Valley to get a parking space and spend time there. We did enjoy the beautiful Wawona hotel for meals and the Mariposa Grove was amazing! Next time, we will probably seek a location closer to Yosemite Valley :-)

All of our guest like our location as we are 30 minutes from the valley and away from the heavy crowds. the Wawona Hotel, Pioneer Center, swinging bridge, Mariposa Grove, Chilnualna Falls, horseback riding, golf course and fantastic trails are within 10 minutes from the house. All other houses are outside the park.

Wonderful stay at Yosemite Home!
We had a wonderful stay at Daniel's property. Very easy checkin, lots of instructions. It is a bit hard to find at first, but the welcome instructions and map are essential to follow. The fireplace is great. Really enjoyed our stay and a very convenient place in Wawona. The bed layout is great, with a master, two twins, and two full size beds. Spacious common area. Nice place! Comfortable beds, homey feel. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The place was clean and smelled clean. The Wawona area was quiet and located inside the park, which made our trips into the Yosemite Valley a little easier. Still a 45 min to hour drive to some locations though. We used the heat and the a/c both. Nice to have a/c! Wifi works great! No AT&T cell service though. Thanks!

We loved our stay at your cabin! Not super fancy, but cozy with very comfortable beds and a huge deck to enjoy our family....the stars at night were incredible. We were busy every day and found this cabin a great place to kick back and relax at the end of the day. Good to buy a week's groceries in Oakhurst before arrival.

During your stay the house did not yet have air conditioning. However, due to the unprecedented hot weather we have had this year, air conditioning is being installed this week. The house has been recently renovated with new stone floors and the addition of a washer and dryer.

Great Location
The property is well-supplied with patio furniture, bedding, towels, and all the essentials. There were 7 of us and there was plenty of room. We used the Shuttle to get around in the village and found out later that it also goes to Glacier Point. We hiked every day and loved the scenery. The swim hole is by the elementary school and we all enjoyed jumping off rocks and cooling off. Air-conditioning would make it even better. The owner plans to put it in in August. .

We are sorry that your stay occurred during an unusually hot, major heatwave in Yosemite. The house has fans in each room and large sliding doors for cross ventilation, which generally keeps the house cool. But no where in our description did we indicate we had air conditioning. However, we have become very aware of the overall warming trend in Yosemite. Therefore we have contracted to have central air conditioning installed in our cabin, Alpine Paradise, in August. We will let everyone know as soon as the installation is complete.
