“Pleasantly surprised!”

Lovely stay at this super hotel. Was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and location, given the last minute bargain price I managed to grab. Well worth it, even at full price!

“Not the best Doubletree.”

I usually love Doubletree hotels, but this one was not great. The location is remote, the staff was not that friendly, and unlike others, they nickle and dime you for everything. The room is still comfortable, but don't plan on the same quality if you're used to the Doubletree experience.

“Awesome Hotel + Good Bargain”

I honestly thought we'd end up at a motel with the price we paid for our room at the Double Tree. Needless to say we were all pleasantly surprised. We were attending the Rock and Shock horror convention at the DCU center not far away, and the Double Tree had the best price, which is pretty amazing considering they give you a cookie at check-in. The room was comfortable and clean, we were never disturbed by staff or otherwise, and it was all-around a great time.

Area recommendations

I don't know the area at all, of course, but it was pretty much a straight shot to anywhere you wanted to go. We did have to pass through a somewhat hinky area to get there in the first place, but it resolved itself.

“Comfortable”

“Dated....But Excellent Staff”

The hotel itself is dated, small bathrooms, 70's exterior, etc. But the staff is second to none. The restaurant had a very nice selection of wines by the glass, breakfast buffet had everything you imagine or need, and service was fast and friendly.

Area recommendations

I recommend traveling to Marlborough for dinner. Plenty of excellent family owned restaurants serving great food,
