Highly disappointed
My husband stayed here last night. Check in was a nightmare. The hotels.com date didnt match the date the actual hotel had in their computers. Took too long for them to sort out. Arrived in the room and it was not at all like advertised. Locks were flimsy and old. Then woke up with a sty on my eye from the bedding. Very disappointed. Usually best western plus is a great hotel but id avoid this location ever again.

I'm sorry the 3rd party you booked through had your check in date wrong. We can not alter that at the property, or it does not guarantee that we get paid for your stay. We have never had an issue with the locks, and in fact, just did an entire building upgrade to RFID locks this past week. I apologize you had a stye, but as a former nurse, I can reassure you, styes are infections of the eyelash that take 3-5 days to appear after the infection begins. We wash all of our linen at 160 degrees and sanitize them with a bleach cycle.

They were flexible when I made a mistake selecting the dates for my stay and worked with Expedia to fix it. Beds were very comfortable and clean. Room was clean. Bathtub was weird and small.

We checked on the evening of 9/29. We’ve stayed at 5 hotels on this trip and this was by far the worst check-in experience. The employee was slumped in front of the computer resting her face in her hand. Didn’t greet us, mumbled, didn’t mention the breakfast schedule—she couldn’t have been more uninterested in assisting us. We’ve stayed in small towns and large and everyone was friendly and helpful. As to the room, it’s fine just a little worn around the edges but comfortable, clean, and quiet.

Hotel was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was good. The suite was perfect for me and my 3 teenage kids. Definitely would stay again.

Great service, location and space
Front desk worker went above and beyond multiple times. We ordered pizza, she brought it out to the pool with plates and napkins so we didn't need to get out. Very friendly! Nice area, easy access, clean pool. Lots of space in our room. We will definitely choose this place again if in the area.

Plumbing is the key to your joy!
The evening staff was a delight! Truly enjoyed her! Our bathtub had a dirty puddle upon arrival but we tried to use it & clean it out but it was a tub full of standing water the whole time. Oh & then there was the multiple police cars & fire truck when we left for dinner! 😳 They were unable to get us into a room to use the shower in the morning. I’m not sure why it was so expensive to stay in Wichita Falls, but third party booking meant they couldn’t offer a discount. The issue is truly that housekeeping knew this was an issue when they cleaned the room before our stay.

I apologize for the issue with the bathtub. With the event weekend, we were sold out, but had a maintenance man on call and a houseman here both days for 4 hours that could have fixed the issue for you. The weekend you stayed, Wichita Falls host the largest single day bike race in the world! The police and fire trucks were here due to the fast action of my front desk staff when presented an emergency case, it was nothing of safety towards our guests.

It’s run down and dated. Not cleaned properly and needs a lot of maintenance. The paint was peeling by the AC unit, and I. The bathroom ceiling. The fridge needed to be wiped down. There was a dead bug of some sort on the floor. The 1st room smelled very musty. I showed the dead bug thing to the front desk and they said it was from a cricket or grasshopper. I should have taken pictures. Stay somewhere else. They need to do a good renovation of this place before I stay here again!

I apologize you had that experience while staying with us. Although the building itself is old, we do try to keep the rooms very clean. This whole area of Texas has an infestation of crickets currently. This is not a sign of poor cleanliness, or lack of pest control. We do our very best, as with all local businesses in this area, to keep them to a minimum.

I apologize that you thought you booked a hot tub, when in reality you booked our jetted tub King. We did offer a early check in, and there was never a mention of cleanliness, but you did want to leave due to the room not having a hot tub outside of the bathroom.

The hotel was more run down than the pictures showed. The room looked nothing like the pictures that it advertised. For the cost, I was expecting a lot nicer hotel. Very disappointed.

I am sorry you felt that way. Our pictures were taken less than a year ago and are up to date. Our prices do fluctuate depending on the market. It looks like your stay was during a city wide tournament, which does cause the market rates to rise.

Very old property, recently renovated, but smells old. Room AC stopped cooling in the middle of the night, room was not fully cleaned. Found old guest keys on top of counters.

Booked rooms through Hotels.com over Thanksgiving for my me and my wife and my parents. Got there and the hotel had no record of my reservation. Told me I shouldn't have used Hotels.com and that it wasn't Best Westerns fault. She was no help and kind of rude. I tried to get help through the Hotels.com virtual agent but it did not recognize my confirmation number. Kept telling me there was no information for that confirmation number. I never found a phone number for Hotels.com but after requesting an real agent over and over through the VA I finally got a live person. That person confirmed there were no rooms booked and refunded my $ . While I am glad I got my money back, I would not recommend using Hotels.com to book rooms. I also wouldn't recommend the Best Western in Wichita Falls either. Woman at desk couldn't care less about my predicament. Very unhelpful.

While I understand your predicament, this review is not based on Best Western Plus, but your experience with Hotels.Com, and should be placed there. We will always attempt to help you when it is possible, however, with it being Thanksgiving weekend, and the University hosting a basketball tournament, we could not accommodate you. This in no way reflects our hotel.
