Hotel near to gatwick

Arrived at around 9 pm after a long drive, 10 hours! Looking forward to a swim and relax in the jacuzzi, after checking in to 2 rooms, being told that there wasn't 2 rooms near to one another, we were allocated one room on the 3rd floor and 1 room on the 4th floor, that wasn't a problem. I always check the cleanliness of the bed linen immediately I arrive, unfortunately the bed linen was dirty, not just 1 mark but 5 and 1 of them was about 3 inches long! I tried ringing reception but there was no answer, so I went to explain, after approx 10 minutes the duty manager came and after another 5 minutes was given the room next door! Suddenly there was a room next door? After gathering our things together and moving to the room next door, we found this had an additional bed plonked in there which prevented access to the queen bed from the left side, after ringing reception this was moved and as an apology the car parking fee of £10 was refunded( we hope ).i unfortunately missed my dip in the pool! The breakfast was £16.95 and £13.95 for continental, not worth it!

Location: there weren't any!
The website made it sound as though this hotel was very near to the Gatwick airport but it really wasn't. It was a good ten minute drive with no free shuttle to/from the airport. It was isolated; not close to any amenities, stores, or restaurants. Wifi was not free which we found shocking for a supposed 5 star hotel. We have stayed at B&B that had it included! The rooms were clean but again the decor was not that of a 5 star hotel. Need to have kids TV available in the evening! The pool was lovely. The restaurant was nice but expensive. There were no little extras nor did anyone go out of their way to make our stay feel luxurious, something we figured we would experience staying at a 5 star. We found our whole experience to be just ok and overall disappointing considering the price we paid was considerably higher than 5 star hotels and other Crowne Plaza hotels we have stayed at in the past.

quiet airport hotel

Pros: really easy to find, parking good, didn't use pool but it looked lovely
Cons: having the other lifts (closer to the room) working would have been good
Location: can't
efficient check in, great surprise to receive an upgrade to club class room fab, bed so comfy I wanted to bring it home, the room was a long way from reception tho.

charged 10 pounds per person each day for internet- this was 40 pounds total which was too much staff helped us figure out how to get to brighton which was very helpful

Pros: Luxury Towels and comfortable clean beds.
Cons: Customer Service
Location: Too far away from Gatwick Airport and it was very close to an industrial Estate with only McDonalds close by.
We went to the information centre at Gatwick and was advised to use a Hotel Shuttle Bus only to be told the shuttle bus does not go to Crown Plaza to use a Local Bus. We were put off in the middle of no where and asked a local directions.We arrived at the hotel and started the hotel check in which went smoothly until the Receptionist informed me we were room only.I knew I had booked B&B but it wasn't showing up on the screen.I was told it would cost me £34 for two breakfast. I insisted I had pre paid for B&B and was told if I produce a document which proved I had booked B&B. After a long and tiring day we proceeded to the snack bar to order food before it closed and I had to backtrack all e-mails concerning the booking.I did find an e-mail which had all information of the booking which included the breakfast.Once again I proceeded to the reception to show the e-mail to the desk , who brought up my info and saw right away we had paid for breakfast. This is the kind of stress you don't need at the end of a wonderful holiday.Wont be staying there again ...more staff training should be given for Customer Service.

Gatwick is a long way when a taxi is required

Pros: Overall a good hotel. The service we received from the hotel staff was outstanding, particularly the housekeeping staff.
Cons: The lack of a shuttle service to Gatwick is a real loss. The luggage cart does not fit in all elevators or through the hallway doors to the rooms.
Location: Location is quite a distance from Gatwick and not convenient for an overnight stay and fly out next day.
The Crowne Plaza Gatwick has been our hotel of choice when flying out of Gatwick. However, this time it was a little less convenient as there is no longer a shuttle and you must get a taxi. This proved a somewhat expensive proposition as we had a rentat car to return. All up 2 trips to/from Gatwick cost us 32 British pounds. The room was a little worn but no issues with the facilities or the staff. We received outstanding service when required.
