Hotel Nestroy 4*

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Location. The main hotel part was lovely and clean.
Cons: The travellers should not be charged the same amount for the annexe, as the main building.
Location: Within easy reach of the underground and trams.
My first impression of the reception hotel and reception was that I chose the right hotel. I was put in the annexe building. It was old and dated. No reception. No bar. No lift to the top floor. I had to cross the road in the rain to go for breakfast and drink in the evening. I even asked them if they had a room in the main building and was told that they had none. I said I'm not getting the amenities that I've paid for according to your web page.

Very affordable option

With expensive choices abounding this is very good value for money. Attentive staff and close to metro stop. The room is a little dated.

Great Hotel!

Posted 09-Jul-2014
Pros: Modern look, cleanliness, friendly staff.
Hotel Nestroy is beautiful! We had a room in the additional building across the street but this did not hinder the service provided by the staff at this wonderful hotel! The room was modern, beautiful and comfortable! The shower is small which would be my only complaint but I found this to be true everywhere in our stay across Europe. We asked the hotel for a recommendation for dinner one night and was very pleasantly surprised by the restaurant they recommended (can't remember full name but it started off with "Hans"). I would not hesitate to stay here again on a future visit to Vienna! Great location (not far from the center of Vienna, and right up from the Metro). We had no problem with the wifi once we were connected.

Expensive breakfast

Posted 06-Jul-2014
Breakfast not included and limited information to suggest that information; cost was not disclosed when sitting down. 18 euro breakfast for a cold breakfast line was much more expensive than it was worth. Room was nice and area is interesting.

Really quite bad

Posted 09-Jun-2014
Cons: Safes in rooms should work; WIFI should work in all rooms; some staff need training; there should be a manager on duty now and then.
The positives 1. The bedroom was clean; 2. We slept soundly; 3. Most members of reception team were friendly. The negatives: 1. The safe didn't work; 2. The WIFI didn't work; 3. Complaints about points 1 and 2 were ignored for the entire duration of our visit; 4. One member of reception team was incredibly rude; 5. One of the two electrical sockets in the bedroom didn't work, meaning we couldn't charge both phones or iPads at the same time; 6. The shower has mould growing in it. When we first arrived at the hotel and went to our room there was a ladder in the way of our room door, and on top of the ladder was a large bucket of white paint. Quite bizarre. The room itself was quite large and clean but as I mentioned, one of the sockets didn't work. Our biggest problems, though, were that the WIFI didn't work (our room seemingly was too far from the hub as the signal was there but not strong enough to work) and that the safe didn't work. We called reception who, in fairness, did send up an engineer to look at the safe, but he claimed to have fixed it and left before we realised it was still broken. Further calls to reception to get the safe looked at again were ignored. I went down to leave my passport in the reception safe and greeted the receptionist with, "Hello, guten tag!" but the receptionist just glared at me without saying a word. She was the only rude member of staff but to ignore me quite so blatantly was really quite unacceptable indeed.

Good price, super location

Posted 27-May-2014
This hotel is immaculate and located on a quiet side street. It's proximity to transit makes superior and the price is right. The staff was helpful, the decor was attractive and the room was quite adequate. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I go back to Vienna.

Good choice

Excellent modern hotel in Vienna district 2 only 150 m from Metro. My second stay - but make sure you get in main hotel and not annex across road from main part, here less well appointed. Will definitely stay again!
