Hands Down My Favorite Victoria Stay

Posted 30-Mar-2015
Pros: The bathrooms are stunning and luxurious and they have a beautiful grand piano in the lobby which they allow guests to play. I loved that part!
Cons: I wish the fitness center had a few more pieces of equipment. Currently it's just some free weights and a few cardio machines.
Location: Location is perfect!. Plenty of nice things close by and it's a short drive to the heart of downtown Victoria. Very quiet.
This place is just wonderful from top to bottom. The staff couldn't have been more professional and welcoming. The amenities are world class. Every little detail about a guests experience is carefully thought out. Elegant decor so lovely it made my girlfriend and I consider taking pointers on design and making our own home this nice! You will not regret this stay.

Away from the noise...

Posted 28-Mar-2015
Cons: The only negative was that no one came to straighten our room until they came to turn down the beds at night (we were only there for two nights).
Location: We found an amazing coffee/pastry shop about a mile away, there were restaurants on location, the pool/spas were very nice.
What a treasure. A wonderful location that was quite and beautiful. The amenities were great, everything was top of the line, and we had a great stay.

Wonderful stay!

Posted 25-Mar-2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: no
Location: Cute town and hotel is only a 10 min drive from Victoria.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in and lived up to expectations from all the other reviews. The room was spacious nice touch with a fridge, microwave and kettle. High end bathroom again very spacious. Really comfortable beds. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed having an excellent lunch in the sitting room (teenagers not allowed in pub) overlooking the pools and beach. The pool was so warm and even though the weather wasn't great we could still enjoy it and the hot tubs, because they were mineral pools you didn't get the itchy dry, smelly skin afterwards! The town was cute and we enjoyed having a meal at the Penny Farthing pub though the service was slow. Whenever we have stayed in a 4/5 star hotel they get you on everything here parking, internet, water is all free! Definately be back.

Great hotel, great staff

Posted 24-Mar-2015
This hotel was one of the best u have ever stayed in . The staff were awesome, rooms were great and facilities were incredible. Only thing that I had issues with was connecting to the Internet. It was slow and didn't always work. Staff did everything they could to resolve issue but it didn't get better

Stay in luxury at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Pros: Everything ~ Mineral Pool, Steam Room & Private Beach
My husband and I LOVED staying here to celebrate our anniversary! It felt like we were in a private resort, as they're so accommodating & everything you could need was on site ... Cafe, Pub, Dining Room, Mineral Pool & spa area, private beach, they'll even supply you with a robe and slippers to wear down to the spa. The room was beautiful and spacious, comfortable bed and wonderful soaking tub + a walk in shower, it was heaven! Huge points for having the heated mineral pool area open 24 hours a day AND licensed, relax in the pool while looking out at the ocean & drinking a glass of wine, nothing more relaxing than that!! The ONLY two things I could recommend them to tweak would be to put a towel hook by the shower, as the bathroom is so big, the towel rack is pretty far from the shower ... and the bathroom fan would not shut off all night (we just closed the bathroom door & couldn't hear it at all though!), other than, everything was PERFECT, we can't wait to stay again!!

Pleasant stay!

Posted 21-Mar-2015
Pros: Close to centre of Victoria and UVic
Cons: Bathrooms badly in need of towel bars.
Location: Short drive to Oak Bay restaurants & cafes. Good running along paths paralleling beach (concrete).
Great rooms. Nice pool and hot tubs. The "minimum temperature" on the thermostat was too hot for sleeping - had to open all the windows. Maintenance staff adjusted the thermostat promptly the next day after coaxing the front desk it was a problem. TV guide seemed off. Showed A&E instead of the listed CBC - couldn't watch the Hockey Game - I thing my wife made them do it!

Pleasant Surprise

Posted 10-Mar-2015
Pros: The room was exquisite the hotel lobby is the first proof and it only gets better. The restaurant is top notch and the pub has everything.
Cons: Nothing to change. The price was really low for the experience.
Location: Lots to do in Victoria.
The hotel is a real gem on many levels. Downtown hotels usually are run like a business, this place was run like a home. It was like being the guest of a grand hotel with no reason to go outside the property.

A pleasant surprise.

Posted 16-Feb-2015
Pros: Everything! The room we were in, the ease of parking, the amenities, security, etc.
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Location: You are on the water(Puget Sound), with beautiful views, a marina(coffee shop, restaurant) and the Oak Bay shopping village.
We were quite impressed with the staff and the quality of the hotel. The location on the water is amazing. Everybody was very helpful and attentive.

Great hotel, great service.

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: Beautiful rooms. Great pool. 24 hour access. Very accommodating.
Cons: Very small item - if there was somewhere by the pool to leave towels/robes/belongings so they didn't get wet. The heated pools are lovely in the rain
Location: We mostly stayed in the hotel as there was so much to enjoy there. You can feed sea lions along the beach though - buy fish from the store.
Wonderful experience. Very relaxing. Kid friendly and dog friendly. I booked through Expedia so it didn't book me into a dog friendly room. However, the staff were able to accommodate me when I arrived. Great pool and hot tub. Very clean. It is really awesome that it is open 24 hours. I was able to go for a midnight swim as well as watching the sun rise from the pool.
