Spectacular

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Pros: Location. Marina is next door, the view of the ocean is spectacular, the shopping street is 15-min walk, jogging from this property is perfect.
Cons: The coffee (room service) was weak.
Location: ocean, marina, downtown Victoria. You can borrow or rent a row boat or a kayak on the dock in front of the hotel - and you should. Get on the water.
The hotel is amazing. extremely high-end finishes. The restaurants are perfect. The Snug is a pub and the main dining room is fancy. The pools are literally perfect. Amazing view, open 6am-midnight, three different pools at three different temperatures. This is an incredible place.

Luxury Hotel Stay

Posted 20-Jun-2015
This is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed at! I was expecting it to be nice, but not as luxurious as we experienced! We contacted the hotel before our stay to arrange for a car to pick us up by the ferry drop off. It was a 10-15 minute drive to the hotel...the drive was beautiful & the driver was nice so the length of the drive felt like minutes. We liked how the driver stayed with our luggage while we checked in & then he took us to our room and showed us around our room. We booked a residential view suite with a King bed. From the photos online, they only showed a picture of the bed with a fireplace. That was all I was expecting. I thought for sure the driver took us to the wrong room because we got a kitchen, dining area, living room with fireplace and balcony, a HUGE bathroom with a deep soaking tub, stand up shower & heated floors! The overall hotel was so nice! With three places to eat, you really do not even need to leave the hotel! Our favorite was the Slub. What really made the hotel was the pool area! Since it is a bit cooler in Victoria, the hotel provides super thick house coats to wear to the pool. There are two hotubs & a large mineral pool. At night, we watched the seals in the water. We even saw a bald eagle swoop down & catch a fish! The spa area was really nice, even though we did not have time to use it. Next time! Anytime that we needed to go someplace, a driver would take us there ($15 per ride) or pick us up!

Fantastic Location

Posted 12-Jun-2015
Pros: Its quiet location and quality of finishes.
Cons: A little more attention to detail in the restaurant.
Location: Victoria easily accessible and the hotel offers courtesy transport. Locally there are very nice walks along the seafront.
Very attractive and well presented hotel. Decorated to a high standard and with very nice finishes. Rooms and public space excellent. Friendly staff. Good parking availability. Hotel in a great area on outskirts of Victoria. Oak Bay a lovely little community. Service in the restaurant was a little hit and miss but the food was great and it always came with a smile.

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel! A Real Winner!

Posted 28-May-2015
Pros: Everything! The staff were always very helpful! We ate at two of the three restaurants and the food was excellent!
Cons: Maybe a shuttle service from the airport would be nice!
Location: It was a 20 minute walk to Oak Bay village and an hour walk to downtown. You could also rent bikes for touring.
I was visiting the Oak Bay area of Victoria. We needed a hotel that was in the area and this hotel did not disappoint! It was bright, clean and the staff was very welcoming! We arrived earlier than the 4 o'clock check in but they let us leave our bags so we could do a walk about. We ended up getting our room 30 minutes later. It was a beautiful room with 2 Queen size beds, lots of space, a little kitchenette and a nice large bathroom!

Fun and relaxing

Posted 26-May-2015
Pros: The staff was super friendly and helpful, the rooms immaculate, the view stellar.
Cons: The massage therapists are not registered or licensed like in the US, so the massages were quite disappointing in terms of knowledge and pressure.
Location: In addition to the above, took a seaplane to Vancouver and back for a day. Much to do there, but we rented bikes and toured Stanley Park.
We were so pampered by the staff and the spa - we did not want to leave. This hotel is spitting distance from the touristy bustle of Victoria, and yet world away in terms of ambiance. You enter a small, charming, lovely little town with quaint and inviting shop lined streets, passing lovely homes with gorgeous flowers blooming in the yards on your way to your destination. The rooms were lovely - especially the one with the water/marina view and balcony. The pools were wonderful - you can order drinks and food there - we brought our own bottle of champagne to enjoy. For dinner we were shuttled by the hotel's Mercedes to and from the marina restaurant, which was excellent, by the way. I cannot say enough about this wonderful getaway hotel. Close enough to the action, but miles away from the noise and bustle.

Unexpected surprise

Posted 23-May-2015
I saw the strong ratings when I booked this hotel, but what I experienced was even better than I expected. The staff was top notch in service and attentiveness, including the front desk, housekeeping and restaurants. The food was so good in The Snug Pub that we ate there instead of venturing out to find dinner. We also ate breakfast in the hotel every day. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The best part was the view of the water. We will definitely return. This is one of the best places to stay I have encountered on vacation.

Pros: Super nice view and ample of free parking is provided.
The room is nicely decorated. Staffs are very efficient and helpful. It would be even nicer if a seaview room was chosen.
