Very old hotel at very good location. Very central location, close to main pedestrian street. Paid parking on site. The room was outdated,breakfast very poor. Staff was friendly. Bed( mattress) was terrible

Great London Hotel best value for moneys
One of the best hotel we have stopped in. Pure quality and service. Breakfast choices the best I've experienced. Definitely go again. Internet not good

Best stay in the heart of Varna
Great hotel in the heart of Varna. Amazing location and friendly staff. The facilities are great as well with the Spa being the best part. Breakfast is good too Would definitely book again!

Lovely hotel
The clue is in the name, grand & old. The rooms are very spacious and very clean but furnishings are old In fashion. A very clean and modern bathroom with ample toiletries. A very good menu for breakfast and the food is freshly cooked.

Exvellent trestaurant, with very pleasant ancient atmosphere. Very friendly and helpfull personal, tasty breakfast. Very central located. I dont knowe if the price was low because of copvid or not. But it worth more than I paid. As for cons, I didnt manage to get my TV working. It was just showing bluescreen.

The hotel is at central location. It’s very good. Quiet. The staff is kind and helpful. The bed is comfortable. The hotel is clean, but it smells cigarettes in the lobby. There is parking in front of the hotel. Only the breakfast is not much 5 stars.

The hotel is in an heritage building in the hart of the city.. The staff is friendly and the rooms are big and clean. The firniture is Victorian style and brings a little bit of luxury in the busy modern life.

The hotel has great bones ... beautiful architectural details ... Art Deco touches throughout. It is a little faded... the carpets, bathrooms, and bedding could use a refresh. The hotel has interesting history and it’s nice to find classics like these.

This is a hotel deeply consumed by an old world charm. One of Varna's oldest and most famous, painstakingly restored to its former glory following chaos of both Communism and the post-Communist transition. The lift in the hotel used to be first to be installed anywhere in Varna. On the down side, I would recommend the management to do away with electronic card-keys and bring back the analogue era metal keys along with classic locks. They would much more complement the overall ambience of the historic hotel.

The Good, The Bad and the Ridiculous.
The Grand extends a genuinely warm welcome and the check-in was quick, friendly and efficient. My room was large and clean with a good sized bathroom. There are two TV's so it's possible to view from the sofa or the bed, which was very comfy and the blackout curtains are a nice touch. So far, so good. Now we get to the disappointment that was breakfast. I could only see a rather lame buffet offering upon entering the b'fast room but no plates. After searching high and low I asked the waitress who then opened a cupboard full of plates, but why are they completely hidden? There are numerous dishes that can be made at breakfast but I was not told this and as there was one menu for the entire breakfast room (also well hidden) I only found out once I was given the menu after I had visited the buffet, too late. Why not a menu for each table? I tried to get coffee but there were only the dregs left in the pot and again, no cups. I had to ask the waitress again and there was one cup on a trolley around the corner, why not put cups on the tables? I'll leave the most astonishing until last. This lamentable experience was set to the backdrop of relentless Europop disco music. Does the management seriously believe guests want that at breakfast time? It may be their taste but it's not everyone's. I gave up and walked out on breakfast and can only suggest the management urgently review this part of their operation.

Elegant hotel where nothing was a problem
Having booked 2 suites for an overnight stay, on arrival only 1 had been reserved. This could of been a huge problem but the hotel had an alternative room which was still lovely: they served us complimentary drinks and had the difference in cash waiting for us after our afternoon stroll. The staff were all very helpful, polite and even more important happy!

Not bad at all. An old hotel with lot of character. Unfortunately the Air conditioning wasn't the best which made the night a bit difficult to pass. Breakfast was OK though nothing extraordinary. Hotel is well located. However it has no swimming pool which you would have expected in a 5 star property. In all have experienced better five stars hotels before... but this is Bulgaria and standards may no be the same. To be fair the hotel is located slap bang in the middle of Varna and the neighborhood is good. A bit pricy though...

Exellent hotel right in the center of Varna. I have been visiting Varna for 18 years now and this is the best hotel in the city center. The rooms are fantastic, the staff are brilliant and the food is wonderful. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Ideally located
Situated right in the heart of the city. This Hotel is very popular with tourists. It bar and coffee lounge are also frequented by local people in search of a treat. Which must be a good recommendation. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooom was absolutely spotlessly clean. The good and drinks were good quality and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to visit or recommend this hotel.

Could have been better.
I really wanted to love this hotel. The location is great, the reviews were great, so we decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay here. Check in was fast, friendly and efficient. The room was beautiful, large and looked just like the pictures. The storage was ample and everything was very clean. However, there were a couple of inconveniences that I didn't expect at this price level. Firstly, there was nowhere near a mirror that I could plug in hair straighteners. Secondly, the view from the room was blocked by a very large tree which also blocked the daylight. The curtains had come partly off the rail so wouldn't fully close. We had booked a table in the restaurant for dinner with friends so went down to the bar to wait for them. Although the receptionist and another member of staff were there and not busy, the '24 hour' bar and cafe were closed and we had to wait 15 minutes for another member of staff to arrive to open it up. When in the restaurant we were the only customers for most of the evening. The service and food were good, but there was no atmosphere and not even any background music. The wine choice was limited. Breakfast the following morning was very good. Lots of choice, the best hotel breakfast I've had in Bulgaria and we've been visiting the country for over 20 years.

Character and location great
Fabulous character hotel, right in the middle of Varna. Rooms refurbished to a great standard. A/c v cool, and rooms were huge. Breakfast good, recommend ordering fresh if you're having a late one. Staff very friendly, would recommend this hotel in Varna.
