“Great Hotel - Terrible Reception Staff”

Nine of us stayed for two nights at teh hotel and had a great time. we really liked teh hot tub on teh roof and being so close to teh beach was great. there was also a good rooftop club across the road and had fun on the go karting track nearby The one downside was that although we booked twin rooms (and took along a copy of the reservation) they only had doubles. After a row with the recpetion staff when we arrived, they put quite good camper beds in the room but they gave off the impression of really not caring about the reservation being wrong. Luckily we quickly forgot about this and had a cracking weekend

“Enjoy the town and beach”

The Hotel Neptune is right on the beach, arriving by train, you have to take a taxi to get to it. It is a quality hotel, well maintained, Do ask for a room with view of the sea. The back rooms have only partial view of the sea, and the nearby disco bar will keep you awake on the weekend, till 5 am. They have well prepared food, somewhat on the expensive side. If you want variety in food, take the bus 19 to middle of the town, good place to get off is the bull ring. In restaurants, stay away from combination menus, they overwhelm you with food, and with drinks, becomes an expensive meal.

Area recommendations
The beach is great, fine sand and warm sea of the Mediterranean, good services on the beach with chairs, umbrellas, and drinks available.
When to go
We went in mid-September. It was immediately after the summer high season (June to August), with big crowds, and big prices. We spent 6 days in Valencia, with cloudless skies during the time. We had a great time!

“The hotel was wonderful”

The Hotel certainly lived up to expectations. The location was directly on the beach and we were blessed with the weather considering it was early November. It think it would be fair to say that dinner at the Hotel was a bit of a pricey affair - but it was delicious. The bar was great and the staff were very friendly. There are a number of restaurants close by and a great Italian that did pizza and pasta at a very reasonable price. We were in Valencia for the Moto GP, as were many other residents in our hotel and the surrounds. The Metro station is a 2 minute walk from the Hotel and runs directly to the airport - all for less that €5

We didn't see much of the city, just the race circuit!

“Very nice!”

Great place to stay, parking was not so good but was not really too bad either. The beach was close, nice little resturants along the boardwalk. I give it a thumbs up! Nice place to relax and check out the sights. Away from the crowds..

Area recommendations
The whole city is exciting, with their version of sea world, the City of Arts and Science, L'Almoina archaeological museum. Their is a castle up the coast just 20 minutes away, America's cup is right next door.

“Beautiful and great location”

We took the metro from the airport to the hotel, and as we got off, it was right in front of us. We checked in with no problems and our room was fine when we went up. There was only one set of bathrobe and slippers in the room, but we called to get more and they were brought up promptly. The free wireless internet was pretty fast as well. The room itself had parquet flooring, which was nice as we did track some sand in from the beach. All was in order, and the sand was always gone when we came back. The best thing about the room was the tub. It was a jetted tub, and felt good after a windy day of walking. The location is wonderful if you are looking for sand, not so much if you want to see all the sights downtown (although those are only a metro or bus ride away as well.) Lots of restaurants along the row of beachside hotels, and a beautiful view of the sunsets from the roof. We used the jacuzzi in the basement and looked into the workout room. The jacuzzi was very large, the workout room fairly basic. The only downside was the restaurant wasn't open very often, other than the bar area, which was somewhat smoky. We did order room service, which was the same menu as the bar had, so fairly basic. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, I think it would be even better in the warmer season.

Area recommendations
I loved being on the beach...so this is where I'd stay!
Getting around
The hop-on, hop-off tour bus picks up very near to the hotel, so if you like to do those, this is a great option. Otherwise, getting from the airport or hotel to downtown is easy using the metro system, as it is literally steps from the hotel.

“Perfect in every way!”

We have just returned from a mini break at the Neptuno and couldn't be happier, the hotel was fabulous, minimalist yet chic, very clean, room and bathroom was also a good size. Tridente Bar was lovely, service with a smile, great lunchtime snacks and cocktails are to die for albeit a little on the pricy side it is well worth it for the ambience and the view. Location of this hotel cannot be faulted it is right on the beach next to the Valencia Street Circuit (Aug 23rd) so great base for F1 fans! Beach was beautiful and not too busy always plenty of sunbeds. Also the al fresco nightclub opposite was great for chilling out and listening to some cool ibiza classic tunes, it even had day beds to lounge on. Perfect holiday in every way! Am already planning to go back next year.

Traveller's tip
Lots of restaurants and stylish bars to choose from along the promenade, great pizzeria very reasonably priced. Tram/Metro very near by and cheap to travel around, Colon is handy for some shopping, visit the Old town for culture. Great for couples, families and girls looking for a relaxing break with their friends!

“A mix of good and bad”

Great position, right by the beach. Price of food high, breakfast 19 euros. Rooms supposed to overlook either the port or beach, but ours overlooked an internal water feature which only worked on the first day so the rest of the time we looked at a grey concrete wall! Worst thing was the very unhelpful staff on the reception desk, they were mostly rude and gave confusing or incorrect information. By contrast the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient.

Traveller's tip
Do not take travellers cheques, the hotel, local shops and even the local post office and banks will not cash them. The journey from the airport to the Hotel Neptuno is very easy using the metro and tram, getting around the city is OK but more metro and trams are needed as sometimes you end up walking quite a long way. The only way of getting to the city of arts and science is by bus with again quite a long walk to get to the attractions.

“Hotel au pied de la plage et du circuit de Formule 1”

hôtel qui ne lésine pas sur la gamme de cadeaux publicitaires dans la chambre, bon équipement de la salle de gym, bain turc et jacuzzi nickels. Hotel de bon standing, terrasse lounge agréable. Loin du centre ville, ligne de tramway avec un délai d'attente de 20 minutes entre 2 rames, station de vélos libre service à 2 pas.
