Shibuya Tokyu REI is ideal for anyone who wants to stay in central Shibuya, as it’s only a 2 minute walk from both Shibuya Station and the Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
However, the room is amongst the smallest I’ve experienced in Tokyo. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to work because despite setting the room’s thermostat to 20 degrees celsius / high setting, the room was always quite warm and stuffy for our entire stay. This was made worse by the fact that windows in the room cannot be opened. All that hotel staff could offer was a rotating fan for the room, which helped a bit, but then also created the issue of pushing dust into our faces as we slept, as the room was not dusted properly.
The staff are lovely though, and always helpful. The hotel also has a laundry room which is handy and well priced, however the washers didn’t seem to do a great job at cleaning our clothes, with dirt still visible on all of our socks and garments.
Overall, our stay at Shibuya Tokyu REI was ok; not great, but not terrible.
