“exactly what they said it was.”

A very nice hotel in a perfect location...10 min walk to Goethe Platz. And lets face it there is no bad 10 min walk in Weimar. It is in a nice neighborhood and on der Park on der Ilm. We did not have a room with a park view. I asked to be moved to a room with a view and it was no problem. It is nice to know what your getting before u get there!! thanks Expedia...well done.

Area recommendations
if your looking for bowling, cheaper food,real stores and Mc donalds...the main street behind the train station is where it is at!!!
Getting there
Frankfurt am Main if coming from U.S. then catch the ICE non stop to Weimar HauptBahnhof (HBF). It is about 2:30min ride...but the fastest way for sure. Trains usually run every 1-2 hrs.
Getting around
small city...no problem to walk....bikes are super cheap to rent...u can haggle a little for them... cabs are good but expensive...catch the number 6 bus that leaves every 45 minutes from Goethe Platz to the buchenwald concentration camp. travel on bus is very easy and cheap...the cab on the way there cost 20 Euro...the bus ride home cost 2.50 Euro...Wish i had known!!
Nightlife
NO night life except pubs and restaraunts... Everything in town closes early except pubs and restaraunts..and Donner :) There is one club in town and it is a student club for college kids. But pubs and priceless "hole in the wall" pubs are awesome and abundant!

“Tree lined easy walk to town.”

Pleasant modern hotel 10 minute walk from town. Bikes for hire...make sure you know what you get...I had one with a back-pedal break...on a modern looking bike. The fish buffet was a treat for us, especially the cold buffet and the deserts. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Traveller's tip
Leave your car at the hotel and enjoy the city by foot. You may walk along a tree-lined avenue or through the park that adjoins the road.A full breakfast at the hotel may be too much every day...stroll into town and enjoy a roll and coffee at one of the many cafes.

“High quality large hotel”

A quality hotel at a reasonable price, but it is a large business, convention hotel. Don't expect to find elves and lederhosen there.

“Als Ausgangspunkt für Weimar liegt das Hotel perfekt , sowohl zu Fuß, oder mit dem Bus.”

Trotz vorherigen gelesenen negativen Kommentaren, meine Meinung, alles war super, habe leider nicht die Wellnessabteilung testen können, Außerdem haben wir ausschließlich draußen gegessen . wir waren für 3 Tage am Ort . Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort nächtigen, Preis - Leistung stimmen . N. Foik

Area recommendations
Wir haben Weimar und Erfurt in 3 1/2 Tagen erkundet, der Schwerpunkt lag allerdings bei Weimar . Deutsche Geschichte Hautnah, toll .
Getting around
zu Fuß , oder mit dem Bus klappt bestens, für mehrere Tage lohnt sich die Weimarcard so 10,00 €

“Überholungsbedürftig”

Beim Einchecken erhielten wir ein Zimmer im 6. Stock, der Fußboden war verdreckt, uästhetisch. Auf unsere Beanstandung hin erhielten wir ein Business-Zimmer gegen Zuzahlung. Wenn man in einem 4 Sterne- Hotel so unterschiedliche Zimmer hat, sollte die Zewretfizierung überprüft werden!! Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und bemüht, die Fehler auszugleichen.

Traveller's tip
Das Zentrum ist nur per Bus oder längeren Marsch zu erreichen, bei schlechtem Wetter kein Vergnügen. Der Busbetrieb inn Weimar wird früh am Abend ausgedünnt, dann lange Watrezeiten, also Taxi.

“Weimar ist wunderschön”

Wir waren nur zum übernachten in dem Hotel. Wir können leider den Rest nicht wirklich beurteilen. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen mit allem Service, den wir genießen durften.

“sehr gute Unterkunft nahe zur Stadt und Park”

Vom Hotel ist man in 10 Minuten zu Fuss in der Stadt. Der Park mit den ersten Sehenswürdigkeiten liegt direkt gegenüber vom Hoteleingang. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet-Sauna und Pool ebenso. Frühstück kostet teilweise erheblich Aufpreis. Es ist eine Art Kurtaxe (pro Person) zu entrichten - war vorher nicht bekannt.
