The Loop is a walkable, business-friendly neighborhood with convenient options for restaurants and bars. You can experience some local theater, or enjoy the natural beauty of the riverfront. The Loop has hotels and accommodation to suit everyone's tastes, and makes a great home base for exploring the sights in and around Chicago.
Sightseeing around The Loop
The museums and theaters provide some cultural flavor, while the monuments and historic sites offer insight into local lore. Study the collections at Museum of Contemporary Photography, Museum of Holography, or Bridgehouse and Chicago River Museum. You can buy tickets to live performances at Civic Opera House, Cadillac Palace Theatre, and Bank of America Theatre. Learn about the local history at Old Colony Building, Monadnock Building, and Fisher Building. Some landmarks that can't be missed include 311 S Wacker Dr, Willis Tower, and Chicago Board of Trade Building. Create some family memories at Skydeck Ledge, Harpo Studios, and John G. Getting around The Loop
If you want to get around the city, Clinton Station is the closest metro stop. Others nearby include Quincy Metro Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center. To see the sights outside of town, hop aboard a train. Chicago Union Station is the closet train station, but Chicago Van Buren Street Station and Millennium Station are also nearby.
At 8.1 miles (13 km), Chicago, IL (MDW-Midway Intl.) is the closest major airport to The Loop. You can also fly in and out of Chicago, IL (ORD-O'Hare Intl.), which is located 15.3 miles (24.7 km) away.
