I had a wonderful time at Anantara but the staff were what made the trip truly excellent.
I gifted this trip to my mother for her birthday but on the very first day of our travels she tripped over and twisted her knee while we were exploring Turtle Village, the small shopping centre across the road. I dashed across to the hotel where the kind staff organised a golf buggy to come and collect her and take us back to our room. They then sent a first aid officer to help us and offered to call a nurse. Periodically over our entire stay the first aid officer would call in on us to check on her healing knee and even rigged up a walking stick to help her get around. The hotel manager even called us to check everything was ok.
Other staff were wonderful as well; with the morning server at the breakfast sala (buffet) always greeting us with a smile and remembering our drink orders from the previous day.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with a wonderful pool, comfortable beds (I was tempted to steal the pillows) and a giant bath you can truly sink into.
The big draw back is the location. It is a 10- 15 min walk to the beach which isn't great in the heat and the hotel, while close to the airport (20mins away), is at least 45mins from the tourist attractions that may draw you to Phuket in the first place. If you're after peace and quiet this is the perfect place for you and if you don't mind the drive, taxi's are usually cheap and will wait up to 4hrs for you if you want to explore.
A fabulous stay at this hotel. This is the second time we have stayed, the first as a couple, the second with two young children. The hotel provides great room options for both. We loved the different restaurant options and the babysitting service was great too. Kids pool very big, lots of toys to play with and heaps of loungers. Spa was wonderful too. Can't fault this hotel.
From our first welcome to our sad departure everything was excellent, only two slight. Negatives 1 pricing in resort was the equivalent of what you would expect to pay in Australia,
you expect that so not really a negative. 2 we tried the activities on the resort I.e. The archery was good but the equipment was very worn. All that said who uses this when you are on a holiday in Thailand at the beach?! All in all the best resort and staff I have ever experienced THANK YOU
This hotel may have saved my wife's life. After two nights in Patong, which has a perfunctory beach, dilapidated main drag, and no charm whatsoever, our vacation in Phuket seemed doomed to be wholly unpleasant. Luckily, a last minute booking at Point Yamu during their soft opening transported us to another plane of existence. Every aspect of this hotel is carefully designed to provide a beautiful and relaxing experience for guests. I appreciated the luxurious yet soothing combination of clean modern blue-grey design, reflecting pools, botanicals, plush fabrics, and natural wood/rattan textures throughout the property. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and accommodating in a genuine way, a number of pool options are available, and services/food are generally reasonably priced. The private beach, accessible by longboat, was perfect for a secluded relaxing day in the sun. Fun extras like a cart for bespoke liquid nitrogen ice cream reinforce the feeling that you're experiencing something really special while staying here. Room rates are amongst the highest in Phuket, but it's worth it.
The room is spacious and the air-conditioner is powerful. The front counter staff are friendly. Unfortunately this hotel is only 3 years old, still considered new and not a lot of Thais know its existence and even the GPS rented were not updated. Overall the stay were pleasant because of the good service staff and the serenity of the hotel.

We are family of three, young boy, and stayed in a 2 bed suite.
The quality of the room, pool, restaurants was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Only complaint for the room was the sofa in the living space wasn't comfortable and the air-conditioning was too noisy to have on at night.
Minor complaint overall was that we weren't told on booking that the restaurant for villa guests was being refurbished; and we weren't told that there was an a la carte menu for villa guests until the last day.
Although technically 'on' the beach, you can only see it from the beach club (which was a nice bar, pool and restaurant area). There are fireworks almost nightly.
There's a visit by a baby elephant twice daily - they kids loved it. No pressure at all to tip, but 50-100 baht gets a thank you from the elephant himself!
Overall - it's one of the best places we've stayed. Highly recommended.
