“Impressive!”
Hotel Duomo was a gem. I parked in Duomo Plaza to check in. This is a no parking area and not a car friendly town to a visiter. The owner personally took me to my car and drove it to the front of the Hotel. Helped unload our bags and took us to our room with our bags in tow. The Hotel is very modern with nice artwork and lovely woodwork everywhere. It is a family run Hotel. The daughter speaks good English and was called upon to translate at times. The breakfast was abundant and included. The whole experience was wonderful. They were all about making us comfortable. The bed was hard but that is common in Italy. It's location couldn not have been better. It was very quiet at night. I highly recommend Hotel Duomo for your stay in Orvieto.
“A Gem of a Hotel in a Gem of a City”
I stayed three nights at this charming, small family run hotel so conveniently located alongside the fabulous cathedral. As a sole traveller I felt safe, well looked after and I enjoyed the comfortable room which was quite spacious for a single occupant. The elevatior was avaliable form the lobby so the only steps encountered were the ones outside from the catherdal down to the hotel's street although I think there was another access route without steps. The charming breakfast room offered a nice buffet selection and the beverages of your choice were served by friendly staff. ( Juices, coffees, tea) Beverages were available throughout the day but cost extra and could also be enjoyed in the delightful garden. If you need interent access in your room the connection was better on the first floor but I had no trouble with fast WiFI connection in the lobby and garden. I would return to this great value hotel which is full of local art work and certainly recommend it highly to others.
“Huge room, Nice staff, Brilliant Location...Hard bed”
Stepped out to the Duomo each morning and strolled along the streets of Orvieto. Room was super spacious (except for the shower). Breakfast was fine. Bed was super hard with flat pillows.
“Excellent hotel in central Orvieto”
Beautifully decorated hotel with modern wood and stone finishes. I had a single room, which had ample space compared to many single rooms I have occupied in Europe. The hotel has a very good continental breakfast, which is included in the price of the room. The hotel is well-located and easy to reach. I was traveling by train - from the station take the funicular up to the old town of Orvieto and from the funicular take the "Duomo" mini-bus. Its a short one block walk from the terminus of the bus at Piazza Duomo.
“Duomo--great hotel, great location”
If you are visiting Orvietto, this is an exceptionally located hotel. It's literally about a one minute walk from the main piazza. Everything you want is nearby and the hotel owners will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and to recommend local restaurants (and book them for you!). It was our first stop after flying overnight from California, picking up a rental car at the airport in Rome, and driving on the motorway for almost two hours. A perfect place to recover from the journey.
“Very nice hotel in stunning Orvieto”
Super friendly and courteous staff. Very nice, clean, and modern room with all the expected amenities. Great location right next to the Duomo with parking available for a small fee. The bed was a little stiff, but other than that, everything was superb!
“Wonderul stopover hotel in a charming setting”
A perfectly located small hotel right by the Duomo in Orvieto. A family run business that pays attention to the details. A very comfortable place to stay, easy to get to and and with breakfast included, it made a wonderful stopover between Florence and Rome. Parking was reasonable, and the mini-bar was surprisingly affordable! The room was completely ready for our arrival, and made for a very pleasant stay.
“Great location”
The hotel is in a great location - Orvieto is beautiful. The beds were a little hard but oh well! You can see the Duomo from your window, amazing. I would stay here again, if not for just the location alone. Great!
“Hotel Duomo - Orvieto”
