“Tallinn at Christmas time”

Tallinn...very cold, good eating places, but avoid town square restaurants (very expensive) otherwise, good value. Christmas market in town square almost exclusively knitwear and woodan carvings, not much choice. Tallinn Old Town, small and interesting, three days needed maximum. Charming old buildings, freindly locals, outside of town , good shopping and the Modern Art museum is a wonderful place! Good for an atmospheric 'city-break'.

“Tallinn in summer”

Stayed in Tallinn for a long weekend in August. Chose to stay in Baltic Vana Viru on the basis of the reviews on trip advisor. Advantages - very central , in the old town,large rooms, reasonably clean, free WIFI connection reasonable to browse websites, good variety in the complementary breakfast Disadvantages - noisy at night from drunken revellers, single bed very light and uncomfortable It is a comfortable hotel to stay but I would not go back there, would prefer one with some more character and more welcoming
