I stayed here when I visited Tallinn with a group of friends. They had all booked into the Swisshotel, however I fancied something with a little more character-Even though the hotel is clearly older than other more expensive hotels it still holds a particular charm to it and after experiencing the swisshotel rooms then I felt I had made the right choice in the sokos.
On booking in I was asked if i wanted to upgrade my room to one which had a tea making facility and with a room safe...they advised this would cost me 60 euros for 3 nights,I said make it 30 and they had a deal, they immedialty agreed and i was upgraded.
The upgrade consisted of a room on the 22nd floor with sea views and WOW what views......spectacular-again my friends views in the swisshotel consisted of apartment blocks .......
The breakfast was nice..nothing too special, however was clean and with a huge variety-I went to the nightclub fri and saturday, for free...and had a great time,my friends had to pay and they was gutted they werent in my hotel.
the only downside was that it stipulates that there is a pool..but i was told it was an additional 30 euros to use this..not great.
overall-i had returned back home and am looking forward to a return visit with my wife and would gladly stay again at the sokos hotel.

This was the nicest place we stayed on our vacation in the region. The hotel is located very close to the old town. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is amazing, and the hotel facilities are very nice. The room we booked was not available so we received a free upgrade. The rooms have free tablets and are very clean. Note: the pillows are a bit different, but you can order different ones from the "pillow menu" on the tablet.

This was our first stay at the Telegraaf, after some 8 visits to Tallinn over the last 16 years. Hotels like this ccertainly did not exist back in the 90s. But Tallinn Old Town - or generally - has not been spoilt by development. If anything the reverse.
Hotel staff and facilities great. They were polite, helpful and friendly. When my daughter sat too heavily on a camp bed we had requested, and broke a wooden slat, within 5 minutes the bed had been replaced. No fuss, bother or criticism. That meant a lot to a worried 9 year-old, and by extension to her parents. The room was spacious and spotless with wonderful air conditioning - needed as temperatures were around 30 degrees all week. Food was great, especially the breakfasts. With so many other eating establishments nearby, we only ate at the hotel once in the evening during our week's stay.
If/when we are back in Tallinn, there is no question about where we will stay. This hotel, so close to the city centre.
Many thanks to all the staff.
Excellent hotel, great location, brilliant staff, great restaurant and provides a decent breakfast spread.
My only quibble is with accessibility. I am in a wheelchair and the actual bedroom was good with wheel-in shower and plenty of turning space. The main entrance however is up one fairly large step and then two smaller steps into reception or the dining area. They do have a movable short ramp, a bit steep but adequate if you have a manual wheelchair and an a abled bodied helper. The staff will help but are not all experienced with wheelchairs. The bar entrance has a shallower step and takes you to the reception level on the flat.
You have to use the staff lift wihich comes out in a big cleaning room which has a 3cm door threshold to negotiate.
I'm a tetraplegic C7 and managed fine with help from my wife, but not I cannot recommend this hotel to most wheelchair users.
Although we would go back again!
