Really enjoyed staying at the Casa Celta, its in a good location in the historic part of the city close to shops and some great bars and restaurants. The owner is French and fluent in English and Spanish. She is very enthusiastic about what she is doing and is well travelled so is full of usefull advice on the area. The Casa celta has a lovely patio where you have breakfast or a drink at the end of the day, it also has a hammock. It feels very secure and the rooms have brilliant aircons and TVs with a multitude of channels.
After two weeks visiting family. My fiance and I finished our Colombia vacation in Santa Marta. As soon as we stepped out of the Cab and walked into the Hostel. We imediatly knew something was different. Everyone was nice and outgoing. The place is absolutely beautiful. And nightly events or parties. Everything was relatively close. and we felt like part of the Family from day one.
We only stayed here for two nights and the facilities are nice and the owner has done a nice job of turning this old home into a nice hotel. But this place has more than just a good look to it; It is the staff that makes this place 5star. I myself and my girlfriend both work at a 20star resort in the U.S and it is the genuine hospitality of the staff that Forbes uses to take a property. From a 4 to a five star rating, and I would have to say that they truly care about their guest, not just while there patrons but for the whole stay in Santa Marta. We had numerous personal issues while staying here as well with the airlines but I will not bother you with that. The point being is that once Felipe knew there was a problem, himself and his staff went above and beyond to help resolve the problem, while also consoling us with all the means at there disposal. I must say I truly feel as though we have made some unforgettable friends here and would never imagine staying anywhere else in Santa Marta. Because the experience we had here was better than any luxury hotel I've ever set foot in. Thank you Felipe and your staff for a unforgettable time in Santa Marta.

This is a charming little place - we came late and were a bit worried at first as the outside doesn't tell much about the inside - it's a lovely hotel, nice, clean rooms and great bathrooms, great breakfast and such nice staff (Antonio). It's close to some good places to walk around and eat and though we didn't head to the beach there it was right nearby.
