“great hotel”

The hotel was very clean and up to date. The people at the front desk spoke english as well as french. They were very helpful and answered all are questions. The hotel was in walking distance to all attractions. The tram stopped near the hotel and took you to the train station if you wanted to take a train to another town, or go to Germany for the day. There was a small grocery store next door if you wanted to buy food or beverages. We would highly recommend this hotel.

“Charming hotel in city center...”

The Maison Rouge is a comfortable hotel located in Strasbourg's city center. The staff were very friendly and helpful (and for international travelers, they speak many languages). The complimentary morning breakfast was always delicious, and can be conveniently delivered to your room. There are many shops, cafes, and restaraunts within walking distance to the hotel...also, the Cathedral and museums are within walking distance too. When back in Strasbourg, I would definitely stay here again!

“Animus revertendi”

Maison Rouge is amazingly located, well-appointed, comfortable and very good value. That's why I keep coming back: all the delights of central Strasbourg are within walking distance, whilst the tram and nearby Homme de Fer tram crossroads mean that everywhere else in Strasbourg (such as the European institutions) is also within easy and stylish reach. The only qualm is the cost of the breakfasts; but that is optional - one is in Strasbourg, after all, and there are countless eateries everywhere. Not to mention the excellent choclatiere (Alain Batt) on one side, and the well-stocked department store Galleries Lafayette on the other. I can't wait to bring my wife here.

“Extraordinary location; note that basic rooms have no AC. Definitely I'll go back.”

In an excellent location, surrounded by cafes and restaurants, in the heart of the old town. Well maintained, helpful and courteous staff, most of them English speaking. Half a block from Gallerie Lafayette (the French Macy's equivalent), everything was perfect and we will certainly go back to this hotel. However, be aware that rooms offered thru Expedia are the basic ones, without air conditioning. That is not a problem 350 days per year, but would certainly be a problem during the hottest summer days. Talking to the manager the following morning we paid an upgrade an moved to an A/C room.

“Nice, central hotel”

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived, hoping to drop off our baggage early, right up until we left (asking to leave our baggage late...). The hotel is in the center of town, next to the Galeries Lafayette, which has a nice food hall for picnics. There's a light rail stop a few yards away but you're also a very short walk from the cathedral and Petite France. The room was a good size, very clean, with a big bathroom and comfy bed. It was also remarkably quiet considering we were in a busy area (double french windows helped). We'd love to go back.

“Would certainly return to this hotel”

A lovely hotel. Excellent central location within walking distance of Cathedral, excursion boats, Petite France, and department stores. Close to Place Kleber. Easily reached by tram from Gare Centrale with tram stop almost outside hotel. Friendly smiling welcome from reception staff. Room quiet, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

“Highly recommended”

A very comfortable and well managed hotel, centrally placed for business and sightseeing. It was recommended to me by a colleague who regularly uses it and it lived up to his word. Has individual character and style that distinguishes it from the run of business hotels. Highly recommended and will always use when in Strasbourg.

“Great location, great staff”

Only a block from Place Kleber and a short walk to all the sites of Strasbourg, we would definitely return to this hotel. The staff is friendly and multilingual, and went out of its away to alert the guests to a street fair which would affect traffic patterns--they saved us from our car being trapped in one of the nearby garages and missing our flight. The lobby is comfortable and each floor has a small lounging area with a different decor including ceiling murals.
