If you are travelling from overseas it may be advisable to book a larger hotel, which may be a bit more expensive, but that can be more flexible because of its size and the price paid. Small hotels unfortunately can't clean the few rooms they have in a rolling process. Thanks for understanding.

Thank you for your rating. However, I believe you may be mistaking our hotel for another hotel you stayed at during your trip. WE DO NOT CATER TO TOUR GROUPS, this is not our type of business. Even though we occasionally host smaller groups consisting of family members or friends travelling to St. Gallen for an event or a long weekend, our guests are mainly individual holiday makers or business travellers. During the time you stayed in our hotel, we did not host any smaller groups - all the guests booked individually, with the exception of one small group consisting of three artists booked by their agent and two business travellers booked together by their company for a conference.

Thank you for rating us. Our hotel is open at all hours; the reception however is only open for a certain time. This is standard for 2-Star hotels. As you are informed by us upon booking, we provide several solutions for you, if you arrive after hours, like a digital hotel key on your smart phone, online registration or placing your key in our key safe on site. All you need to do is contact us prior to arrival, so we can send you the details for a self check-in.

Thank you for your rating. You are right, the hallways are long and depending on where your room is located, you will encounter a door more and some additional "odd steps". The reason ist, that the two adjacent buildings of the hotel date back to the 18th, respectively beginning of the 20th century and the levels of the houses may differ, depending on which floor your room was located. An additional lift in the backyard can help you overcome the "stair" issue if your room is located on the 3rd floor. If you are in need of eased access to your rooms, please inform us at the point of booking or well in advance of arrival, as these rooms are limited and popular.

Thank you for your review. The reason why you can't check in earlier, is because the person before you can use the room until 11.00 o'clock. As we would like to hand you over a speckless room, we need the time between check-out and check-in to ensure that.

Thank you for your review. We apologise if our 2-Star-Hotel did not meet your expectations. We send you information regarding opening hours and possibilities to store your luggage prior to the opening of the reception after you book. You receive a reminder mail including the information about needing a 2-Franc Coin to retrieve the key. The coin is returned to you after you insert the key to remove your luggage. In case of problems, you can call us, even if the reception is closed and someone from the office can take your luggage, if it doesn't fit the locker, during closing hours. It is normal for hotels our size to be closed for a certain time during the day. You may have had superior hotels for more or less the same price during your stay in Switzerland, but probably not in St. Gallen or any larger city. You cannot compare hotels in the mountain region with city hotels as our seasons are completely contrary. You can book a room with breakfast over this site.This arrangement costs 5.00 CHF more, which amounts to a 60% discount on the breakfast price. Also, you forgot to mention, that our hotel is located IN the midst of the historical center and just a couple of steps away from the UNESCO World Culture Site. The location of the hotel also plays a role when comparing prices!

Thank you for your terrific review. We have fridges in our studios, apartments and Dependance rooms. In the hotel, we offer you fridge compartments. You can ask the reception for a key.

What you may not have taken into account, is that basic services like cleaning, administration etc. cost us the same, no matter whether the room has 4 square meters more or less. And being in Switzerland and as a Hotel that belongs to a Social Institution, we pay fair wages. Besides that, the hotel is located in the midst of the medieval town centre. You do pay for the location, like in other parts of the world. I would also like to add, that being part of a social institution, as mentioned before, one part of proceeds go towards a home for people with socio-psychological needs, which we run as well. One part of the sum you pay supports this institution. As to checking in/out without internet. Internet or WiFi is no prerequisite for this procedure; it is one option, which you chose. If you don't have internet in Switzerland, we can organize that you can open the front door by code and pick-up your room key in a key safe, wifi- and internetfree. However, we do require, that in this case, you send us your contact details before arrival. Without your contact details, we cannot issue a key. You can enter your details online whenever you are connected to the internet and whereever you; you don't have to rely on our Wifi, which by the way functions very well; you can do this before you begin travelling from home for example. We apologize for implementing this procedure, but we have experienced that most people, who do a self check-in don't provide contact details the next day. We are required by law to ask for this information even before Covid times and we are the ones who are fined. We thank you for understanding

We're sorry you weren't happy with our service. During Corona, we are unable to store your luggage in the reception area, as we try to avoid as much contact as we can to ensure our hygienic standards - for your health and the health of our staff. We offer you video protected luggage storage possibilities in the entry area of the hotel and in the sous terrain. If you don't have coins to retrieve the keys of the luggage compartments, we offer you change. As far as the room is concerned, that is located in a different building: we inform you during the booking process, that the historic rooms, of which you booked one, are located in a different building about 200m from the main hotel building. The information is contained in the room description and in the hotel description. We DO NOT simply move reservations for rooms in the main building to the exteriour building at our fancy or out of a whim, as we assume, that our guests read the hotel and room descriptions ahead of booking a room and are aware of WHAT they booked. Again, we are sorry, if you weren't pleased and apologise for appearing rude.
