“Great hotel near some good bars and not far from shops”

We stayed for 3 nights in September 2011. A good choice of hotel. Very near everything and a nice peaceful nights sleep.

“Excellent Hotel, would recommend to anyone travelling to Sofia”

The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet part of town but only a short 10 minute walk to the sights, bars and retaurants in the centre. We stay in quiet a few hotels for short breaks and this was definately one of the better hotels we have stayed in for the price paid. The rooms were very spacious and clean, and were made up every day before we got back from breakfast. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone, hot and cold, and we do have a habit of going down late but although it should finish at 10.30 we never finished before 11.00 and never felt under pressure to leave being offered coffee right up until we left. if you're staying in Sofia try this hotel and I am sure you will be dissapointed.

“Great service, rooms and location.”

Highly recommended hotel. Right in downtown Sofia with all the shops, cafes and restaurants by walking distance. Nice, well maintained rooms and polite and helpful staff.

“Would definately reccommend”

The staff are extremeley welcoming, professional and attentive, The food in the restaurant is very good with an ample selection of dishes. The hotel is fairly central and excellent value for money.

Area recommendations
Key Central areas are full of history and architecture. Shopping areas are near with many boutique type shops on offer.
Traveller's tip
Stick to official Yellow taxis if you go further afield as these are registered and prices monitored.

“Very pleasant stay”

First class hotel-we travelled over for the CSKA Sofia football match and the Hotel was ideally situated-nice breakfast-friendly staff and reasonably priced

“Das Hotel Downtown liegt zentral”

Wenn man Sofia besucht, können wir nur das Hotel 100% weiter empfehlen. Das Zimmer gut geschnitten und sehr sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet kann eigentlich nur noch von den nordischen übertroffen werden. Der Gesamteindruck sehr positiv, zumal wir uns auf die Beurteilungen verlassen haben und diese 100% zutrafen.

“Hotel Downtown nahe dem Zentrum”

Die Strasse vor dem Hotel ist ziemlich lärmig. Das Hotel hatte bei unserem Aufenthalt diverse Reparaturen zu erledigen und darum wurde der Wellnessbereich, weil wenige Gäste da waren, kurzerhand für 2 Tage geschlossen. Das obwohl uns gewisse Leistungen zuerst versprochen wurden, aber dann doch nicht da waren. Die Zimmer sind klein aber sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war sehr gut.

Area recommendations
Ausserhalb von Sofia, da die Stadt für Touristen nicht eingerichtet ist. Es hat einige alte Gebäude-vorallem diverse Kirchen-und auch mehrere Parks. Sonst gibt es nichts zu sehen.
Getting around
->Achtung : Einige Taxiunternehmen verlangen bis zu 12-mal mehr als andere !! Diese haben übrigens auch Taxameter, nur zählt dieser sehr viel schneller als andere. Diese Unternehmen sind auch offizielle Betriebe und ziehen Unwissende total über den Tisch. Unbedingt vorher im Hotel fragen, welche Taxis "normale" Tarife haben.
