Arrived on Sunday afternoon after a long day travelling..Reception open-- rang bell no answer. Note on desk said look in kitchen or terrace if no one at reception. Searched kitchens pool area etc still no sign of any staff. Decided to go to opposite hotel to see if they could help. A chef? eventually appeared. We reluctantly handed in our passports and credit card !!! to get checked in. He showed us to our room it was not what we had paid for. AVOID ROOM 212 it is NOT a superior room with private terrace. After chef telephoning the manager etc told we could upgrade to a superior suite but would need to pay extra for that night, the manager would be there at 9 o'clock the next morning to sort it out. We did not want an upgrade just a room that we had booked.We did not unpack. Next morning we were told the manager would not be there until 2 o'clock .A very hardworking waitress /cleaner tried to help. We decided to leave but told by manager via telephone since we had paid by Expedia we could not have our money refunded. Offered us Room 003 but that was not available until later that afternoon.This was over the kitchen. Decided to stay in the suite so we could get on with our holiday. Haphazard allocation of rooms by manager is endemic. That evening arrived at Hotel by 8:00pm. hotel and gate locked up.No information given about this.What if we had left our key at reception?.No idea how to get in.PANIC!
