“not actually in Rouen”

Family of four--two parents, two young kids--traveled through Normandy for five days; planned two nights in Rouen. Ended up on a bit of a wild goose chase b/c this place actually in the Western Suburbs of Rouen, a town called St. Etienne de Rouvray. That said, once we finally found it (if I'd had gps it would've been very easy to find since it's just off the autoroute), it was fine. Ended up eating in the restaurant both nights since there wasn't much else nearby and it was surprisingly good and reasonably priced for France. Had to drive in to Rouen took about five minutes; also drove to Givergny which took about 45.

“Basic overnight stop”

Stayed here twice before as overnight stop on way home to Calais. Hotel beginning to look quite tired and bit shabby. It was very busy when we stayed - nearly all english. Initially given a smoking room which stunk - so asked to change which was no problem. Dinner was not cheap and nothing special - breakfast is 13euros. Bit tricky to find as no signs and only found from previous memory..

“A good value overnight stop”

We chose this hotel as we needed a readily accessible hotel for a one-night stop-over in the Rouen area, with secure car parking and an on-site restaurant. We have stayed at various Novotels in France before, so we knew that we would get a clean, good proportioned family room - which we did. Positives: helpful reception staff; extra bed already made up with sufficient towels etc for the whole party; large, secure car park; tasty, good value meal, imaginatively presented. Negatives: the buffet breakfast in the restaurant is expensive so we decided to have the simpler "CityBreakfast" in the bar, but when came down (at about 8.45 am) the bar was full of breakfasting seminar delegates. We decided to check out without further delay and had breakfast en route.

“difficile à trouver”

Problème d'adresse, pas reconnue par le gps et mal balisé, nous avons beaucoup tourné avant de trouver l'accès. mais une fois sur place pas déçus sauf par l'état du pédiluve de la piscine qui n'invitait guère à se baigner
