"Gorgeous hidden gem of a hotel very close by the beach with great pricing! The rooms were spacious, have a great swimming and gaming area, and the breakfast was excellent. I only have two minor issues with my reservation. First, I did not get the room I paid for. I paid extra to get a bigger room with an extra bed and partial view of the beach, both which my room didn't have. "My husband, our dog, and I spent Christmas weekend at Hotel Pousada Ilhasol. The room was comfortable and had a small private patio, which was perfect to dry our bathing suits and towels and even better for the dog to be outside off leash. The included breakfast buffet was fantastic and grounds were perfectly maintained with bird guides, a nice in-ground pool and bar. We were even able to bring the dog by the pool while we dipped our feet in. The staff was welcoming too!"

"The property was extremely tired and run down and did not reflect how it was advertised on the Expedia website. We paid extra for a spa bath which when we turned it on, filled the room with the smell of sewage- we obviously therefore did not use it! Our room smelled damp and there was evidence of mould on the ceiling in our room and in communual areas. The furniture was battered and broken and the shower rusty."
