“WONDERFUL!”

This hotel was really a wonderful place to stay. Its location is absolutely ideal - ten minutes walk from the main town of Thira (where you can get buses to anywhere in the island) and the old port. Head out the back gate of the hotel and you will find yourself walking along the most beautiful path on the island with breathtaking views. The hotel is run by a family who go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They make delicious breakfasts (which are very good value at 6 Euros a person) and went to a lot of trouble to provide us with all the information we needed. Our room was small but very comfortable, and we were very content to spend the day there when bad weather meant going outside wasn't an option. They also have a small outdoor pool with wonderful views, but sadly it wasn't quite warm enough for us to try it out! I think you'd be hard pushed to find a better value, better located and more friendly and welcoming hotel in Santorini. It really deserves all the glowing reviews it's had.

Area recommendations
Definitely take the day boat trip to the volcano, the hot springs and ending up at Oia - the guide was brilliant and had us hanging off every word and the whole day was a real highlight. Unless you fancy the walk, get the cable car down to the old port (where the boat leaves from) and get a donkey back up - we took a donkey downhill and it was a little hair-raising, but those coming uphill looked far more relaxed! Watching the sunset at Oia is a must too, and the red beach is worth a visit. When you go make sure you eat at the last restaurant along the waterfront just near where the bus drops you off (the one with the boardwalk that extends furthest out over the water). The food there was the best we had in our 2 weeks in Greece, and the service was wonderful - a genuine Greek family-run restaurant.

“Great friendly atmosphere”

These people cant do enough for you and we have enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent and a wander down the hill overlooking the clifftop houses is amazing. Lovely place

Area recommendations
Fira is the small capital and we just on outskirts (10 min walk). The other areas are a bit isolated for us so this was perfect choice for shopping and eating out.
When to go
definitely summer, we came too late in sept and it was freezing.
Getting around
buses easy and cheap.

“Really cosy place and the most friendly stuff ever”

The hotel was really nice and the stuff were kind. We had a warm welcome with some rakomelo (traditional sweet drink) and they offered us a short guide on where to go. They also booked one of the best restaurants at Oia for us. The hotel is small but the rooms are really beautiful and comfortable. I would definitely recomment to anyone interested, one of the warmest places I've stayed.

When to go
Prefer mid-July to mid-August if you want to really enjoy summer in Greece
Must see
Sunset at Oia Caldera Footpath in Fyra (the main town)
Nightlife
Koo club and Eros are the best clubs in Fyra
Outdoors or beach
Perivolos and Perissa beach are the best to go for swimming. I would suggest red beach at Akrotiri just for the experience.

Better than the pictures. Great, great, great. The staff is so helpful!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only con is that the bed was not the most comfortable.

“Great value”

Location is great. It is a 10 minute walk to the city center but the path to get to the city center is incredible and has the greatest view to the clifs, volcano and other islands. I highly recomend this hotel if you want a nice hotel for a good price. The hotel is very small and does not look fancy but it is very practical and has personality. The stuff is very helpful and the hotel is old fashion but in great conditions. Our room had a nice fenced terrace where we could observe the pedestrians pass by. There is wireless internet and even though the breakfast is not free it is only 6 euro in an area where you would be paying at least 20 euro for the same quality breakfast. I would def. be happy to go back next time we go to Santorini. Note: If you are looking for a fancier environment I would higly recommend you an area called OIA . OIA has the best views in santorini and personally think is the best area in the Island.

Area recommendations
The best area in the Island is Oia. It has the best sunsets and restaurants. It has a stunning view and the best looking area in Santorini.
Outdoors or beach
The Volcano/hot springs totally worth it. The red beach is not a beach for someone looking for a fun beach but more for the adventorous type. i really enjoyed the red beach and thought it was awesome.

“Loved the family welcome”

When we arrived, the owner and one of his daughter's welcomed us with a local aperitif. They were charming hosts and couldn't do enough for us assisting with any enquiries and no request was too difficult. Our room was warm (it was cold outside) and there were home made Easter treats for us. Unlike many other hotels, the room we had looked as good as the ones used to promote the hotel. Can't wait to go back.

Area recommendations
My husband and I liked walking as much as possible. We wished we had known about the ancient remains and the walk that went over the ridge down to the sea. We didn't find out about it until we were an hour from leaving. Go anywhere to maximise the views as they are spectacular.

“A great place to stay at Reverie Traditional Apartments”

A delightful family run these appartments and are so enthusiastic that the stay is so enjoyable. Their command of English and other languages is superb but overall their attitude is to make sure you have the best time in Santorini. They could not do enough for us. Always cheerful, always ready with a smile, and they always put the guests first. This includes the other staff members including the cleaning staff. A beautifully situated set of appartments. They are outside the town and so are quiet but close enough to walk to Fira or north to the next village, around a 10 to 15 mins walk. Beautiful views of the caldera from the roof terrace in the apartments. No complaints at all. Will happily stay there when we visit again. John and Paul June 2011

Firostefani is beautiful and away from the major drag but close enough to walk into it in 15 mins

“Stop looking and book here”

This is an unbelievable place to stay. It is completely family run. The best aspect is the warm, welcoming nature of all the staff who work here. What is written in the Expedia Guest Reviews so far is 100% accurate. For a small charge, they will pick you up from the airport or ferry stop (email at least 24 hours in advance). This charge is the most convenient option for 1+ traveller (less hassle than bus which is cheaper, and cheaper than a taxi). We were greeted with a nice cool drink as soon as we arrived. The room we got was very nice with air conditioning. The views are stupendous. The laneway behind the hotel is gorgeous. Try the walk from the back of the hotel to Fira town centre (about 15 minutes). The views on this walk just smack you in the mouth - we took about 50 pictures of this alone. Restaurant recommendations, moped or car hire, itinerary planning are offered to you honestly and impartially (and free of charge). The breakfast was nice and home made. There are not enough words to describe how much we love this place. At the end of the trip, we felt like we had stayed at our relatives place, not at a hotel. Santorini is like a dream world of pristine beaches, glorious sunshine, unbelievable scenery and Greek culture, and very nice people. Staying in this hotel only adds to the charm. We wish the Reverie family all the best. When we were dropped off at the airport by George, the owner, his words echoed the sentiment of this island: "Have a nice life!".

“great hotel”

The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of helpful advice as well as answering all my questions about how to get around etc. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from central Thira and there are great views as you walk along the paths. There also several restaurants and a convenience store very close by. If you're looking for a hotel thats out of central thira, i really recommend this one.

Area recommendations
Fira, Firastefani or Oia - these are the three best places in santorini
Must see
Take the organised boat trip to the hot springs, but Thirassia isnt worth visiting on the that trip
Dining
Its hard to get a decent breakfast for a reasonable price (15 euro for a small continental breakfast). We gave up and just bought the items from the convenience store and saved a lot of money (and it was better).
