“we will use it again”
right price, right place, big rooms, older hotel, run well, even has the European style complimentry breakfast,
“Loved the added touches to our room: large, attractive bedspreads, fireplace, fluffy towels, a pret”
Great breakfast: pastries from a local bakery, bagels, apples, orange juice and coffee.
“Birthday Getaway”
The hotel has a nice location easy access to everything. And good neighborhood, quiet and clean. The receptionist was not as helpful and nice.
“Will go back again!”
Quiet, cute, clean. We were staying there to attend my daughters high school band marching competition at SBCC and will do so for the next 3 years if they attend that competition. EVerything you need is in your room from a microwave to a refridgerator and a coffee maker. Staff was polite and helpful even when it appeared we lost a room key which we later found in the car.
“M. Alonso”
Asked for a king bed and was provided with 2 twin beds. This was a bit of a problem because we have an infant and would have preferred to have him sleep between us so he wouldn't fall off of the bed, so we had to ask for extra pillows so my wife could set up her bed to accommodate for the baby. If you book a king size bed through Expedia then that is what you should get. Obviously there is a disconnect between the hotel and Expedia. The hotel staff was great though and location is good
“Only thing that bothered me was that there was mold on the shower curtain.”
Remember to always change the shower curtain. There was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain. YUK!
“Best Value and Most Convenient to Shops and Restaurants”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Svendsgaards Lodge. The deal price through Expedia was remarkably inexpensive. The check-in receptionist even commented on our super low rate. The room was very clean and comfortable and included a refrigerator (which we stored our meal left-overs in) and a microwave. The pool was sparkling clear and I even sat a while in the nicely heated Jacuzzi. I noticed a worker every morning cleaning the pool and sweeping up in front of all the rooms. The property was very well-kept. Complimentary breakfast included assorted Danish (of course), bagels, instant oatmeal, apples, orange juice, coffee and assorted teas. It is only one short block walk to the beginning of Coppenhagen Street where all the shops and restaurants are located. We will definintely be staying there on our next visit and will recommend Svendsgaards to all our friends.
“Great experience”
Excellent motel right in the heart of Solvang.
“Nice Location”
The Location of the hotel was perfect. The shops and restaurants were at its door step. The people at the front desk were very helpful in finding great restaurants and wonderful shops.
“Great value”
This hotel, although old, was very comfortable, clean, and service was very good. It is located right in downtown near all attractions. The bed was comfortable. The building needs a little upgrading and minor repairs.
