I liked the proximity to the beach. I would have liked more restaurants within walking distance. The rooms were decent and clean, but the beds were a bit uncomfortable.

This property was perfect for a family vacation and had all of the extras we wanted (free breakfast, a kitchenette, free water sports, free bikes, 2 very nice pools and more). There were a few small things that we would have appreciated - a deadbolt or chain on the door (my 2 year old was able to walk out if we weren’t paying attention 24/7), a line to hang wet clothes in the bathroom or balcony, and wish the property sprayed for bugs better because the noseeums were vicious and we were completely bit up by the end of the trip.

We unfortunately cannot spray on property for no-see-ums due to Sanibel Island being a nature preserve, but we do advertise bug spray both verbally and in writing here at the front desk. There is a deadbolt in every room to protect from any entering from the outside, but the way those work is they do unlock when the handle is opened from the inside. The customer service was excellent and the property had great amenities such as bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and a Tiki Bar with great food. The rooms were very simple (could use some more decor)but very clean and comfortable.

The property is beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful. My ONE BIG SUGGESTION is that you guys better get some anti-slip mats in the showers. They're VERY slick when wet and someone's gonna slip and sue the daylights out of you.

Decent place for the price
Great experience overall, good amenities but most were with the sister property located next store, not a big deal to walk over and check out a bike or kayak. Being next to the pool was a little loud at night, well some nights but most guests were respectful.

We loved our stay at the Song of the Sea. Going to the beach was so easy and there were plenty of chairs and umbrellas for us. Also the beaches were not super crowded, it felt very peaceful. All the amenities ensured that we had something to do during our stay.

Relatively small property, more like a glorified motel than a true resort. Room was clean, bed comfortable, but furniture/facilities a little worn. Kind of expected more for the cost. Staff was very friendly and professional, and having a light breakfast (cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffle maker) was nice as we only needed to go out for dinners.

This property is ok. The internet was down for a couple of days. The stove in the room didn't work. The furniture on the patio is very outdated. There was not enough umbrellas on beach to sit under. People were allowed to put their towels on the beach chairs and leave them for hours.

Overall a relaxing place to stay. Continental breakfast was offered a good variety of choices and they never ran out of anything. On the minus side, there seemed to be too few beach chairs and umbrellas for the resort. We had to go to the resort next door for umbrellas. Also, the hotel's policy of collecting all of the chairs and umbrellas at 6:00pm was disappointing as there was at least another good hour of beach time available.

As for the beach chairs, unfortunately, the city of Sanibel does regulate the number of chairs we can have out on the beach and how late we can have them out. We loved the resort. Great pool, incredible beachfront. Very quiet with sort of old world Florida rooms, which we prefer to modern and busy. Beach cruiser bikes were always available and the breakfasts were lovely. Bonus: REALLY good coffee. Seriously. Our only complaint was housekeeping only happens every third day. We could have better handled every other day. (Housekeeping staff was lovely, it's just a resort mandate.) Overall, we loved it. It was a perfect laid-back couple's retreat and we wished we'd booked a longer stay.

In my opinion the only 2 negative points I have are the premises needs updating for sure, but it is clean, safe and accommodating. Then I feel breakfast should be available a little bit earlier.

Loved everything about Song of the Sea and its sister property, Sanibel Inn. Beautiful beach, pool and garden areas, great continental breakfast and super friendly staff. Dante's next door had delicious pizza and the tiki bar was a great place for a quick bite and drink. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and get away from at all, Song of the Sea is the best!

Heated pool and beach access made relaxing easy here. Free bikes were a fabulous bonus on a cooler morning, bike paths are wide and safe and can take you everywhere.

Very quiet and like the location. Didn’t like there was no staff at the front desk, we needed coffee couldn’t get, got locked out was hard to find someone to help us. I loved the other hotels and grounds affiliated with this place. We didn’t really get an explanation that there was a restaurant, bar, and recreational stuff available.

All of the staff were so friendly from the receptionist to the lawn upkeep people. Love the easy walk to the beach. Felt so safe walking around the property no matter what time of day or night. Dante's was a fantastic restaurant and the Tiki Bar was a fun place to hang out with good food. Enjoyed having the bikes available to take for trips around the island. I will recommend this to my friends and look forward to going back there myself.

The property is older, but well kept. Rooms include a small kitchen area with full size fridge. The screened in porch/deck was nice! I recommend staying on the second floor if you’re okay with stairs. The staff was super friendly! We received multiple texts checking in on us. and prompt responses when we needed some towels. The bike usage and beach chairs, guided nature walk, bags games (and other yard games) included are the resort fees. The continental breakfast was decent - included fresh berries. This property does not have a poolside bar, but the sister property next door does and we walked over there for lunch twice. We would come back.

Fantastic hotel in beautiful Sanibel!!
Amazing property in Sanibel!! Perfect for couples- quiet and relaxing, but if you want some excitement, you can walk to the sister property next door which is more family friendly. Rooms and outdoor areas are very clean and service is top notch! The room is comfortable and well equipped. The beach is beautiful, the pool well maintained. I just wish the mattress was firmer, but you can’t have it all…. Will definitely stay there again on my next visit to Sanibel.

I liked that the room was clean and that it was located on a nice beach. I also like the fact that it has a kitchen stove, so I can cook fresh food instead of buying processed pre-made stuff.

I chose to stay here because the beach was just a minute walk from the pool. The property is absolutely beautiful, clean heated pool, beach chairs and umbrellas provided. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall a pleasant generally comfortable stay with a friendly staff, beautiful grounds and options for c varied activities. Three thoughts: nature walk, furniture and age of the accommodations. I emailed to sign up for nature walk from home, never heard back so asked the reception rep at check in to sign us up, but still we were never notified that we were signed up. Also, room furniture left a bit to be desired. The dresser had two broken drawers (of 4) and the 2 lounge chairs had uncomfortable, saggy cushions. The wood of chairs themselves appeared moldy or dusty, probably reflecting their age. Porch wood chairs had icky arm rests which need refinishing. We didn't want to touch them. Tacky bathroom door was poorly painted, stove (which we did not use) was old with burners not ready to use. The facility is old, showing signs of repairs, but kind of run down. Pricey for the room quality, although outdoor options were very good.
