Needs updating

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Cons: Great need of updates.
Staff was rude when I requested an early check-in; she said there was no way they could allow that. The room was okay, but the bathroom was old; peeling wallpaper, no counter space, old bottles of shampoo on window ledge. We were on the bottom floor so lots of noise from parking lot and the above room. The room was dark, not well lit.

friendly staff and good atmosphere

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: minor things: the pool water was really warm and it was a hot day and the toilet flushed really loudly
Location: downtown Los Gatos - lots of food and drink options, shopping and a nice path to walk on around the lake
The person who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to explore the area a bit and she took her time giving us multiple suggestions of where to go and what to do. The room had a microwave, a mini fridge and a large gated patio with chairs which were all pleasant surprises. We stayed a Saturday night and they have live music Friday and Saturday nights in the bar and grill so that was fun to listen to while grabbing a bite to eat and something cold to drink. There was a large bocce ball court and a swimming pool which we took advantage of as well.

ROOM COMFORT

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: The breakfast buffet was excellent! Very clean, very good food....fresh, etc. Very pleased with the breakfast buffet offered.
Cons: The appearance of the hotel rooms, the complimentary bath soap, and definitively the BEDS!!! Need better beds, sheets, pillows, etc.
Location: Location is great. Many stores nearby. .but not too many things to do near by.
Unfortunately, the room was NOT what we expected. The room was clean, however, the bed was old and made some really bad "squeaky" noises the whole time! Even if you were just to sit on it...it squeaked so bad...we thought it was going to break at one point. The pillows where very loose and flat - and it caused our necks to feel somewhat uncomfortable the next morning. Definitively not what we expected.

Fun place to stay

Posted 25-Jul-2015
Stayed here while visiting my daughter who lives in Los Gatos. The location is great, we enjoyed sitting in the bar and listening to music after a day filled with playing with our grandaughter. Also nice to have a porch to sit and drink our morning coffee while looking at the mountains.

Nice quiet hotel has the feeling of a small villag

Posted 24-Jul-2015
I liked it because it was not the typical hotel. It's more of a lodge feel. With a nice pool and outdoor area to relax. Attached is a restaurant and bar. They also offer a fabulous breakfast! I will be back. It's only 10 min. Drive from San Jose.

Don't waste your time and money!

Posted 21-Jul-2015
Pros: Location is nice.
Cons: Needs total update, better Internet connection and training for the staff.
First room I was given was occupied. Rooms need serious updating. I was on the second floor of bldg 4 and was woken to the loud band at the bar. Wireless Internet is horrible. When I checked out, the staff didn't ask about my stay and the worst was she didn't even say thank you. How hard is it to tell your guest thank you??

Decent hotel in an excellent location

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Pros: The price mostly, but also the peaceful atmosphere.
Cons: Grounds and facilities could be upgraded, but I know this would increase the cost.
Location: Awesome location! We stay and enjoy shopping and eating in Los Gatos, then head 20 miles over the hill to Santa Cruz beach.
Los Gatos Lodge is an older property, but offers quiet and rest in a peaceful setting. Facilities are clean, and staff is friendly. The price can't be beat for the area. My family of four stayed comfortably in a two-bed room, swam in the pool, and enjoyed hot breakfast, all for less than $150 in the posh town of Los Gatos.

Family Vacation - Beaches/Lakes

Posted 09-Jul-2015
Pros: Hotel View Pool Good Location Excellent Breakfast
Cons: Make sure all card keys have batteries and verify correct check out dates to avoid customer being locked out of a costly room.
Location: Hiked in Saratoga trails Big Basin Hiking Beaches Mall Movies Lake only 1.1 miles away for fishing...
My family and I stayed in this hotel for 3 days we were there in Los Gatos to do some fishing, hiking, and drive to State Brighton Beach about 30 minutes away. There is a lot of entertainment and the hotel staff are very friendly. The only hiccup I experienced is being locked out of my room for about 2 hours, the battery in the card key died. They did accommodate by offering us another room to have for our stay along with the one originally that we were locked out for. The next day it happened again; locked out. The reason is the staff made a mistake and thought I was checking out when I was not scheduled to check out for another day. Hmmmmm first experience with failure of key card.

Just one night but it was a nice one

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Pros: The beds were fantastically comfortable and everyone has a porch or patio.
Cons: The airconditioning unit was very loud and hard to control the temperature. Breakfast could have gone a little later in the morning.
The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. The lodge building is a funny old 60s place with tinted glass and the breakfast was servicable. My only complaint about staff was that on the phone I was told we could check in early and then when I arrived they said no. It wasn't a big deal for us as we had a friend already checked in but it would have been very frustrating if we had driven out there for nothing. We didn't end up swimming but the pool was very clear and clean.
