Staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are nice, and it's quiet. The room is dated and run-down and the kitchen not very well stocked (no plates, no functional coffee maker, broken hinges). We stayed for a week after my husband had surgery, and it was fine for that.

The hotel is interesting with period details. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were helpful. Breakfast although basic has freshly cooked eggs. I would recommend as a good stopover in San Jose.
