“Ideal base for a weekend in Salzburg”
Having seen some mixed reviews prior to arriving, we were not sure what to expect of the Lasserhof. Overall our experience was really positive. We were greeted warmly and the staff were really helpful and polite throughout our stay. We saw from the floor plan that we had one of the smaller rooms, but it was still fine for a weekend stay. The room and the bathroom were both clean and refreshed efficiently every day. The breakfast buffet was excellent and kept us going on our first full day when we struggled to find restaurants in Salzburg with any space (it was the second weekend of advent!) The locatation of the hotel was excellent. Everything was a short walk away and the neighbourhood was pretty quiet at night. The rates were very competitive and if we were to return to Salzburg we would certainly think about a return stay at the Lasserhof.
“Would come again”
Very nice rooms, almost like a bed and breakfast. Nice, modern bathroom, but the showers didn't have good seals allowing water to leak onto the floor. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful with arranging tours and with directions. Spoke English well. Breakfast was very good, the usual Bavarian/Austrian fare.
“Good Location, Very Bad Maintenance”
The location is awesome, but the room service was extremely bad. they had not even changed the blankets when we arrived the first night. We could even see the hairs from the previous guests on the bed. the people at reception were nice. good breakfast. The only problem with the breakfast was a guy from the hotel sitting there and watching you when eating. The location was so good that only takes 10 min to city center and just 5 min to train station.
“Great Staff and Free breakfast!”
Great little hotel close to the train station. Not directly "downtown" but an easy walk to the main attractions as all of Salzburg is rather tiny. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast and free wifi were wonderful!
“Salzburg visit.”
Lasserhof is good value. Staff helpful, room good and clean and tidy. We had a first floor street facing room and were woken at 6:20am one morning by the rubbish service vehicle over the road. Otherwise minimum noise issues. Spent two days in Salzburg. Sound of Music tour was excellent, with the guide sensible and knowledgeable. Great fun as it covers a lot of countryside as well. We bought a Salzburg day card (25 euros each) and got well over that back from free travel and entry to various sites. The river boat cruise is dull, and I had trouble staying awake. Card gives free access to gondola up a nearby mountain, (a good trip, about 35 minutes by bus from the City), but haze prevented us getting good photos of Salzburg, the water fountain tour at Hellbraun, the Salzburg castle and the boat cruise among other things, but that is all we had time for.
“Walking distance to town centre.”
Good location, easy access to centre of town. Parking across the street 10 euros a day.
“Great location, great price, big comfy room”
My sister and I were just in Salzburg one night and two days. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Five min walk from hbf trainstation and abt 7 min walk from city center. Nice clean room and good breakfast. Free wifi as well.
“Hotel did the job!”
Conveniently located for the train station and only a 10 minute walk to the main sights. We walked everywhere and did not think the hotel was too far from anything. Reception were helpful and met all our requests (extra pillow, more soap) efficiently. Breakfast is varied although not anything out of this world. Room was large and well-equipped but it was stuffy (a fan is provided) and looking out onto the side road we were awoken by the bin men some mornings. Overall we thought the hotel was good value for money and would recommend it to people who don't mind a short walk from the town centre.
“Great hotel with good buffet breakfast at super price”
hotel only about five mins really easy walk from the station which is undergoing major construction. Hotel reception very friendly and helpful. room nicley furnished and very clean with windows that open and comfy beds with two side lights that one can actually read with as a lot of hotels have crummy side lights. Great small shower room but new and very clean.Breakfast great with a comprehensive buffet inlcuding eggs, selection of cheeses, cold cuts, joghurt, fruit and an abudance of breads and preserves plus excellent coffee. We were only there for a one night stay but hotel was just perfect for our needs as didn't need to eat lunch after such an extensive breakfast. Would definitley stay again and reccommend to friends. Also flat screen tv in room which offered various channels in English.
“Great Salzburg hotel”
This hotel is very close to the Salzburg train station - actually easier to walk to than to take a taxi due to the construction and traffic routes that vehicles had to take. We asked for dinner/shopping/transportation suggestions from the front desk and they were super helpful. Everyone's English was wonderful. They were also able to call the tour company (for the tours booked on Expedia!) and arrange hotel pick-up for no charge. The free internet in the rooms was easy to use and reliable. The complimentary breakfast was very nice and even had scrambled eggs and bacon (which I have very rarely found in European hotels). I do advise going early to get the eggs, however. We showed up near the end of breakfast one day, and it seemed like one pan of eggs was the norm - kinda first come-first served. We were in very easy walking distance to MirabellPlatz and the Mirabell Gardens. It was only a little further into the old city. The only reason we used public transport for that walk was because it was COLD when we were there in February!! I gave the room a 3 for cleanliness, because I found things under the bed from previous guests - yuck! Unfortunately, it seems to be a growing trend in hotels to NOT clean under the bed?? I have found this in several locations at several chains, otherwise, I would have given it a lower cleanliness rating. All the visible surfaces were nice and clean though! Overall, a great place to stay and a great price!
