Where to begin.. Pros: There are not many choices in Salina Cruz, if you absolutely HAVE TO go there I suppose this might be the best option. Breakfast and cleaning staff delightful and helpful. Cons: Hotel grossly misrepresented. No room service!! Front desk staff rude. Well to be fair, the day of check out the desk personnel was okay. When we checked into to room it smelled so strongly of cinnamon disinfectant that it burned my eyes. I had to prop the door open and sit in the hallway to breathe. I went to front desk and staff treated me like I was crazy saying no one used cinnamon anything. After about an hour of me sitting in the hallway they finally agreed to change rooms. As I was leaving first room I noticed a blood spot on the sheets. When I showed front desk staff she immediately blamed me. Upon arriving in new room I pulled back the sheets to find two hairs and more stains. Went back to desk, staff again was very rude saying that I had put the hair there. Understand, I wasn’t asking for anything, not my money back, no compensation of any sort. But I was still blamed. Cleaning staff arrived to check new room and bed. They were wonderful and kind. They proceeded to tell me that they use CINNAMON disinfectant (remember I was scolded by front desk staff as she said they didn’t use cinnamon anything) and they changed the sheets. This hotel is a nightmare!

We asked for extra shampoo because the bottles are very small and my wife needed more shampoo and they refuse to give us an extra tiny bottle of shampoo

Nice chain hotel but poorly managed. Ice machine was broken down. I had to walk a long way to a store to buy ice. I asked the staff to take me in the hotel minivan but they said no driver was available. Also there was only one towel for two guests. In the breakfast buffet, there was no jam or marmalade for the toast (A first in all the years of staying in hotels)

Estiamdo huesped es correcto nuestra maquina se descompuso y lamnetablemente son reparaciones y equipos que no se encuentran en la ciudad, y mandamos a pedirlas fuera , sin embargo se le dio la atencion adecuada tan pronto como fue posible, con el resto de las toallas y el desayuno se puede pedir en recepcion y en cocina que le ayuden a resurtir .

Business Hotel
This is a newish hotel specifically designed for business travellers. Rooms are very basic, furnished with modular equipment, and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay on the road. The price is very good as you would expect. Buffet breakfast included was fine. My only complaint is that I was never able to get more than tepid water out of the shower tap.

Saturday morning , a gentlemen knocked on every door at 8:00 asking if we needed laundry service . Then Sunday , at 7:15 the next morning they were hammering and pounding On the room above us . This is an industrial working man’s hotel , rise with the roosters !! No late morning’s here .

Great hotel for Salina Cruz shopping, with a car!
Great hotel room, really clean and quite spacious. Much preferred the room and the breakfast to the One Hotel which is down the road and onsite for Walmart, Sam't Club and Liverpool. But you'll probably have your car to load up the shopping, so this City Express is my preference.

The best option in Salina Cruz
This is the best hotel option in Salina Cruz. Although it is a budget hotel, it has comfortable beds and pillows, good A/C, cable TV, Wifi, nice bathrooms, and a free breakfast. I have tried all the other hotels in Salina Cruz over the years, and this is the one I always return to.

Excellent stay but need a car!
This was the best sleep in days! Traveling Mexico only issue is it's a Motor Inn away from anything a backpacker would need. A fairly long taxi ride from the bus station if doing an overnight. WiFi work perfectly. Bed was super comfortable pool was clean and the A/C was quite. Continental breakfast was great also fruit, cereal, coffee and juice all ready at 06:00.

Decent hotel
This was my 4th stay at this property in last 6 months. It's the only good choice in Salina Cruz (I've tried them all over the years). PROS: Clean, good room air conditioner, nice staff, decent rooms, decent beds & pillows, decent hot breakfast, decent TV, good bathrooms. CONS: Something broken in room on every stay (on 2 stays it was the curtain/blinds control & this time it was a broken electrical outlet in bathroom) breakfast buffet is advertised to be available until 10:00 a.m. but they ran out of food at 9:30 and manager refused to prepare more even though they did have food to prepare (various guests were quite unhappy & hotel did not care) room not cleaned until 6 pm (we stayed multiple days) pool was very cold.

Very good hotel
PROS: New hotel. Friendly staff. Nice rooms (decent beds/pillows, enough electrical outlets, decent bathrooms, very clean, decent TV). GREAT air conditioning in room with thermostat. CONS: Breakfast buffet has only cold items on weekends (though weekedays are pretty good). Hotel ice machine broken. Insufficient lighting in rooms. Water not quite hot enough & rather low pressure. SUMMARY: I have stayed in every major hotel in Salina Cruz and this is by far the best option. New, modern, comfortable, good service, free breakfast, fairly close (1 km) to shopping center (Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Liverpool, Cinemex). Have stayed here 3 times & will always stay here in the future.

Good hotel with a few issues
It is a good, new, clean hotel, professionally managed with a helpful staff. Comfortable beds and pillows. Water could be hotter. This was my second stay, and both times there were some negatives. This time the window blinds would not work. Three people spent 20 minutes working on them so we could have some light in the room (the rooms are underlit and are dark without outside light coming in). Also, I tried room service. The worst ever. It is not a real restaurant - they just prepare cold items and microwave frozen items. The 2 hamburgers were soy/meat frozen burgers and tasted awful. The "Deluxe" salad was a small amount of shredded lettuce and shredded ham lunchmeat drowning in ranch dressing. It was inedible. The hot free breakfast is actually decent if you are staying Monday - Friday but on weekends they serve only a cold breakfast; it's a disappointment. This will be my regular place to stay in Salina Cruz and is a good value, but on both stays there were maintenance issues. And the room service is dreadful. I've tried every major hotel in Salina Cruz and this is the best of the lot, for sure.

Good Value, Will Stay Again
This was definitely a good value; I will be back. Although this is a budget hotel, it is new, clean, well managed, with a helpful staff. POSITIVES: Very clean, excellent A/C in room, comfortable beds, good pillows, clean swimming pool, ample safe parking, ice machine, friendly staff, room service from 2 pm - 11 pm (limited menu). NEGATIVES: A/C in gym & public areas inadequate; hot breakfast not served on weekends; had to prompt the breakfast attendant 3-4 times to replace various items in the small breakfast buffet that had run out; barely adequate room lighting; minor video interference in most TV channels (although it was cable, flat screen, with many channels, which were positives); low water pressure in bathroom; water was just barely hot enough in shower; the only vending machine was broken (so no sodas, snacks, bottled water, etc.). LOCATION: This hotel is about a mile down the highway from the big Sam's Club / Wal-Mart / Liverpool / Cinemex shopping center -- too far to walk, but affordable taxis are easily available. (There is another hotel right in that shopping center where I've stayed before, but this City Express is far better.) Overall, definitely a good experience and a good value. I will be a repeat customer.
