The staff were very helpful and courteous. The hotel is located within a block of Pantheon and only a few blocks away form the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Venezia, and even the Coosseo, so it’s very much walkable to a lot of different tourist sites. The breakfast was very good as well. Our room was very small and dark with no window to the outside, which was not great (and we were told this was an upgraded deluxe room). Otherwise it was a good mid-city hotel.

Hotel Roma Luxus
So this review is actually for the Hotel Roma Luxus. Caravita was under construction so they suddenly transferred our reservations to Roma Luxus a week before, allegedly as an “upgrade.” I’m not sure if it was truly an upgrade, as some of the aspects of the stay were not in line with the decently high price we paid - in my opinion. They had all of the European quirks we were expecting - no bathroom ventilation, so-so air conditioning, one person elevator. But the big thing for me at that price point was that it lacked any decoration or Italian charm in the room (which had super scuffed up walls for some reason). Also the door didn’t close properly on its own and one day housekeeping accidentally left it cracked open for who knows how long while we were gone. The spa features were nice, but a bit pricey at €90 for a (not warm) jacuzzi, small sauna, and Turkish spa that was too complicated to use. The masseuse they hired was very good though and that was money well spent. Customer service as a whole was kind of hit or miss. We really liked the lady who worked the front desk usually in the mornings. She was the most helpful, and the breakfast staff was so nice and doted over our baby non stop. The breakfast was actually great compared to other European hotels we’ve been to, but I’m sure it would’ve been pricey had we not had that included in our original reservations. Otherwise, Hotel Roma Luxus simply did the job. We probably could’ve done better at that price point.

We were sent to Roma luxus Hotel, Caravita was not available. What makes this hotel wonderful is its location and more important the staff, specially the guys in charge of breakfast which is amazing!

I had a different expectation. No elevator before 8am or after 8pm which made carrying 4 bags of luggage extremely difficult. It's also not the easiest hotel to find. The hotel is in a restricted traffic area, so almost impossible to get a taxi in the evenings. Overall the hotel was very clean, rooms were well kept. We were only passing through for a night, so a place to sleep and shower was worth it. Plus you're within 5 minutes walk to Trevi fountain and 10 minutes of the Colosseum. Breakfast smelled amazing but we were rushing to leave. Staff was very helpful, but you're on your own after 9pm. If you want to take pictures, start your day at the crack of dawn. Amazing lighting as the sun rises.

Right at the heart of all the attractions, room was quiet considering we were right opposite reception, only 11 rooms, good air con, staff were just lovely with good English, they couldn’t be more helpful and attentive, bed comfortable, a kettle to make a cuppa after a long day. The only thing that marks it down was you had about 13 steps to climb to get to the reception and rooms, more if you were on a higher level and only tea provided no coffee. Fabulous trip.

The most amazing hotel we have stayed in......EVERYDAY there was fruit and cake left for morning tea, and savoury sliders and fruit kebabs left for afternoon tea and a free breakfast as well. Thank you Francesca to you (and your staff) for your bubbly welcome every time we came in, for our extended checkout and an amazing booked taxi to the airport - a maserati. So special and we appreciated it all. Definitely will recommend to friends and will return ourselves. A faultless experience and loved the quirky elevator. Thank you so very much. This is a great little hotel in the perfect spot in Rome. The hotel is situated almost equi-distant from The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps. All within close walking distance. We did not walk to the Roman Colosseum from here, but it's about a 30 min walk, so not terrible. The hotel is boutique, so you're not going to get everything you get at a Marriott or Hilton, but it is clean, the rooms are sufficient size with private baths and all of the necessary amenities to make for a restful stay, and all of the front desk hosts speak adequate english and probably many other languages as well.

Terrible experiences ever.
It was the worst experience I have had ever, my room got flooding at midnight and all of my belongings were even wet. There was no reception and the manager showed up in 13 hours after I pushed someone to see her. No deal was reached for compensation sings the manager was hide before I leaving. And that they called the police man to come for stop reaching agreement. I will definitely sue the hotel, also the manager is call Pierangelo.

wonderful little hotel in the heart of all tourist attractions of Rome. Great service: nice breakfast and buffet afterwards, room was very clean and contained all that we needed. The hotel is located in short walking distance from all main attractions.

The welsh arrived at Hotel Caravita for the Rugby
Great stay at this small and intimate hotel! From the moment we booked in with Francesca we knew we had made a good choice! Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were individual and clean. Bathroom had funky lights in shower. The breakfast far exceeded our expectations and the snacks in the afternoon were most welcome! A great location right in the heart of the most beautiful city! Will return I have no doubt

My 13-yr old son, & I, stayed at Hotel Caravita for 1-night, in transit, & this was my favorite hotel. Julia is/was AMAZING. Great communication the days/week leading up to our check in, & great hostess once @ the hotel. Felt welcomed, and Julia helped map out Rome attractions for our quick stay. Hotel is clean, really comfortable, the showers great, and breakfasts delicious. Also, the morning cappuccinos were the BEST. I would definitely book this hotel again, for the friendly staff, short walking distance to the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain, location in general, & cleanliness. Vatican City & Sistine Chapel are about a 30 minute walk, or quick taxi ride. I would definitely use the hotel drivers from airport to hotel, & back, since hotel is about 45-60 minutes from airport. The transport has wifi in vehicle, & our driver was great with pointing out historical places, & interesting things to see on our drive. There is an currency exchange just outside the hotel, but be careful of fees they charge. Do your research on fees for getting cash if you need it. Exchange place was an expensive way to go. Not sure if a Bank ATM would have been a better choice. Or bring enough Euros to not have to use the exchange, since so many shops and cafes only take cash.

Hotel very easily walkable to major attractions. Central enough that a taxi ride to the vatican was less than 10 euros. Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and pre dinner snacks between 5 and 7 was a nice touch

So central to major Roman artifacts, Vatican, transportation! Our room was at the bac and very quiet. Enjoyed a lot of sights but need to get back for more and would definitely stay at the Hotel Caravita again.
