My girlfriend and I booked this hotel to stay at the night of the NC State Fair and as we got closer, we noticed this was in a more dangerous part of Raleigh. The staff was very friendly, but we were immediately concerned for our safety after seeing someone sitting on the ground in the parking lot appearing to be loitering, as well as other sketchy looking people in the surrounding area. Additionally, when we checked in there was a strange scent machine blowing a very nasty smelling perfume directly into my face at the check in desk, this just made the whole experience even more strange. After we got checked in, we entered an elevator that had extreme damage to the floor and walls and also what appeared to be insects in the light fixture. On the way to the room, we noticed additional scent machines affixed to the walls fogging the same scent into the hall. We also noticed piles of trash in the hallways trash cans. The room door would not lock and we took great notice to the sign inside the room that said "be sure to us door bar and deadbolt while inside the room." The final observation I had was that the room smelled very strange, almost like a bottle of penicillin or something. Needless to say, we were not comfortable at all in this hotel, but I did not want to forfeit the $150 that I had spent on the room. I will mention that the room itself was nicely appointed with two smart TV's, a nice tile bathroom shower with glass sliding door, and a couch. All in all, I would say ou

Fridge in room didn’t work and there was dried urine on the rim of the toilet under the seat. Only one of the tv remotes actually controlled the tv for both rooms. Property was very nice inside but room had repairs on wall that were unfinished and unpainted. My wife and I had actually stayed at this property when prior owner was still operating it and it was very very nice at that time… not so much now…

Don’t be fooled by this hotel it’s in the hood and they charge all this money for it… the toilet did flush upon arrival I complained about it immediately only to be put in a room where the sink got clogged…my daughter and I had to use the shower. They have the audacity to charge a tourist fee

At check-in the system was down and took at least 2 hours to check-in. The elevator was also out of service during our stay so we had to take bags up & down the stairs the whole stay. & the towel bar in the room was broke

Arrived at 5:00 (4:00 check-in time). Clerk (not very friendly or welcoming) at front desk said no rooms available at the moment-we would have to wait. Apparently only one housekeeper on duty that day. After 15 minutes we checked in (but I had to ask-the clerk made no effort to advise me a room was ready). No sheets/blankets etc in room for sofa bed. Phone in room did not work. Only one elevator was working, so we had to park in the back parking lot to use the only working elevator to the 3rd floor. There was a car in the back parking lot that looked like a homeless person's room for the night, full of junk, and with a flat tire. General atmosphere of the hotel was tired and not very inviting. Certainly not worth the money we paid.

The property has some good points 1. the pictures on the web site are the same as in person . Now the bad point. 1. The whole building has a bad smell. I talk to the front desk about it and she said it was the chemical they use to clean the carpet I suggested they use a different chemical my hope is that they will change the chemical 2. The room furniture is scratch up. Need to be resurface or polished that cover scratches. 3. Air conditioner loud other wise the hotel is serviceable.

Friendly staff. My room was clean. Attendants were always available and provided with more linen if I needed them. Food was good. Minnie was always courteous and cared about keeping the place clean. She made sure that the breakfast was plenty. Coffee was also good for someone who loves a dark roasted coffee. The hotel is a little dated but that didn't take away from the services and amenities provided. Even their fitness room met my needs. Clean towels, bottles of water, and cleaning product to clean equipment after use. Check in and check out was quick. Thanks Nikki for the hospitality, I really appreciate it.

The hotel overbooked, did not mention that when I tried to check in at 3, only said that the room wasn’t clean. I specifically said we would not be back until later at night to get the room key as we were going to a concert and I was assured it would be fine. When we did arrive, there were no rooms and we were told nothing could be done to help us. We ended up having to drive almost 3 hours home in the middle of the night. Our money was refunded and we were given a $75 voucher for hotels.com, which we will not use, but the general lack of concern or communication by the staff was appallingly.

My Go To Hotel in Raleigh
Room was a two-room suite with comfortable seating, sleeping area, and bath. Location is good. I have stayed here three previous times and experienced consistently quality customer service.
