We loved BessaHotel Baixa! The common areas - front lobby; breakfast buffet and dining room, and; back garden are all gorgeous. The breakfast buffet has plenty of options and everything is very fresh. The staff are very friendly and there to help you with directions and suggestions for places to see and dine at. It's close to many of the charming neighbourhoods of Porto and about a 20 minute walk down to the water (where the nightlife, views and dining are wonderful!). Highly recommend.

Great Hotel
Fantastic hotel, staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Everything was pristine and the room was really comfortable. We had a room with a terrace and jacuzzi which made it feel really special. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in Porto.

I loved the hotel, however, my only complain is about the mattress and pillows. The mattress was really hard and pillow was awful for neck support. I’d wake up with neck and shoulder pain. I’m Not sure if this is a Portugal thing but majority of hotels have these types of mattresses.

This property was listed as 5 *it was beautiful but the staff let it down and there seemed to be no one in charge and no communication ? We arrived at 2pm and were told we were not allowed to check in until 4 ..but if we used the pool someone would come and get us if they cleaned the room quicker …I’d still be waiting if I relied upon them ! At 430 we went back to enquire if the room might be ready ? Different staff on now and equally miserable and seemed suprised we hadn’t been given our room ? A great room but no fridge and a coffee machine with dirty pods in …and bathroom scales that didn’t work ! After driving from London 6 days previously we were getting into how hotels treat guests! The staff on the supposed snack bar had no menu or price lists and only 3 items which were relayed back ..2 burgers with crisps and spicy prawns On a plus the breakfast was great and overall it has the potential to be amazing …I run a business myself with 28 staff and my friend works in finance ….we could see how much better it could be!

Seven Night Leisure Stay In Late May 2023
A clean, comfortable and convenient hotel well located for transfer to and from the airport by Metro, and accessing central Porto by foot and further afield by bus and Metro. Bed and waterfall shower were excellent, and extensive buffet breakfast was more than adequate for a day on the town. If staying for a reasonable period of time ensure you are given a room with suitable wardrobe space. The first room we were given hadn't and the second room suffered from construction noise from work next door, but fortunately usually when we were out sightseeing.

A perfect stay
A beautiful stay. The hotel feels luxurious and the staff are very friendly and fix issues very quickly (we had a broken key door and the room was immediately exchanged!) It is walking distance from the city centre and on a quiet road. I could not recommend highly enough!

Beautiful hotel
Lovely hotel and staff. Decor was absolutely gorgeous, breakfast was a good selection and tasted good. Spa was very pretty. Great distance from metro station and bus stops so very accessible. If more of a taxi person, the hotel is central enough that taxis are very affordable…walking can also be an option if you don’t mind hills. My only cons would be there isn’t much storage space to neatly unpack clothes out of sight and I could have done with more plug sockets but it was a single room so larger rooms may be better on those fronts. Would come back and stay at this hotel!!

Porto Girls Trip
I stayed here in September 2022 on a Girls trip. The hotel is very well located just a short walk to the shops, market, and attractions. The hotel is beautiful in layout and room were lovely. The beds were plush and comfy.

Nice hotel in general but a few minor critiques. Our room had a great view and jacuzzi but the air conditioning vents rattled quite noticeably and the buffet breakfast was underwhelming. Lastly, the laundry service is confusing. 7/10. Thanks.

Great Porto Hotel.
We stayed four nights. Great staff. Very good restaurant and breakfast. Easy parking. Extremely clean. Large room. Fast wifi. Unlike in some other reviews I has good hanging space and drawers. Had to ask for a non slip pad for the shower. We’ll stay there again in a heartbeat.

Mostly good. Area's slightly disappointing and requiring improvement were no free water in the rooms and breakfast starting very late everyday (0730). Not great if you have meetings starting early.
