I came to Porto de Galinhas with one friend in July 2014 and we stayed for three nights. The building was recently renovated and in excellent condition. We particularly appreciated the spacious, modern bathroom...always highly appreciated when you are spending your days on the beach and come back every evening sweaty and covered in sand. The room was large and in good condition. There could have been two AC units for the size of the room, but the one that was there did the job fine. The only thing I would fault with the room is that the beds and linens were a little dated and slightly uncomfortable. Like the rooms, the rest of the building is in perfect condition and well kept. Breakfast is nothing spectacular, but correct. There is a minibar in the room with lots of water and soda and it was actually cheaper than buying it in the supermarket!! The hotel is located a short walk (under 5 minutes) from the beach and the touristic center of the town. The owner, a very nice Paraguayan gentleman was very helpful and courteous. He offered us a very good reduced rate to keep the room past checkout until the evening on our last day because our flight in Recife left quite late. Overall wonderful stay and I would highly recommend, particularly for groups of friends and families.
The room was nice with a great view of the beach. People are friendly but don't speak English. Breakfast has a great variety of fresh items (the cakes were delicious). I assume that prices are normally lower, we felt it was a bit pricey for what the hotel offered. They even charged for beach towels (R$ 5).
Unfortunately the beach has pretty strong waves and a strong current, not ideal for swimming.
It is about 4-5 km from Porto de Galinhas and not easy to find, and I agree with what one reviewer said about the drive from the main road and the neighborhood (bad road condition and a bit depressing area). The hotel offers a daily shuttle in the evening to PdG and back which is really nice.
This is a charming place, but definitely more for people who seek a quiet place away from everything. I also would recommend it rather to couples than to families.
Wifi was included and reception was actually pretty good, even in our room.
Both Brazilians and foreigners make their way out to Porto de Galinhas in the southeast of Ipojuca. Reefs off the coast contain numerous tropical species of fish, including seahorses. You can enjoy local restaurants in the Vila de Todos os Santos or shop at Vila de Pescadores. Spend your day horseback riding or relaxing on the beach or head out to join the town's nightlife.
