“After all these years and lot's of additional properties - still our Scottsdale favorite”
Great property, comfortable - cozy feel, mature tropical landscaping, unique architecture, awesome location, friendly - courteous - helpful staff, well designed and appointed rooms, good restaurant with really good food - especially for a hotel, Great barista in the morning with terrific carb spread, good value, and really a place you can feel welcome and relax. Over the past 25+ years, it has been our favorite place to stay in Scottsdale ... and we have experienced many others.
“Great Scottsdale Resort”
If you are looking for a relaxing hotel to stay close to Old Town Scottsdale, this is the place. While not walking distance to the nightife, this hotel is a short cab ride away. Great pools and amenities.
“Treated like Royalty”
This is a sprawling property that feels very secluded, yet right off the main artery Scottsdale Road. The every one of the staff to a man treated us so special from the time we set foot in the lobby to check in. The desk staff, the service staff, the wait staff in the restaurant/lounge all went out of their way to make us comfortable and ask if we needed anything. Both pools were well maintained and very comfortable and convenient. The food/drinks were superb! The entire property is well maintained, updated and clean! Would love to stay again! Did I mention how great the staff was?!?!
“Dated but so friendly and chilled”
As fans of contemporary decor we were a little put off by the 70's style of the hotel and the fact that its design seemed more suited to an underground carpark (lots of concrete pillars inside and out). However the room was huge with a king bed, settee, chair and full size office desk and leather recliner chair and also had a balcony, large wardrobe and dressing area with 2 large mirrors! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the grounds were well kept and lovely with a variety of flowering plants, fountain and cactus garden and the swimming pools and hot tub were warm, large and quiet. Staff were happy to bring drinks and food to the poolside, there was a good range of expensive and inexpensive food in the bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, large portions and good service, and the breakfast buffet was excellent (a la carte also available). The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed that after a few hours we no longer noticed the concrete pillars and by the second day we thought they looked quite good - such was the atmosphere of the place! I didn't want to leave and would definitely go back. We stayed in 8 hotels on our fly-drive tour and this was one of our favourites yet by far the cheapest. When we asked for a late check out they were very accommodating offering 1pm checkout for no extra cost and our 4pm request for just £25 which we thought was good value. To eat out we recommend the Mission in the old town for flavour value and service.
“Excellent value and service”
We will be back!
“overpriced”
Not very happy with the hotel for the price. There are far better hotels in Scottsdale that are more reasonably priced. Was not very pleasing to the eye. Our first night we had to change rooms because the toilet didn't flush. In addition, the lay of the room wasn't thought out very well. I thought it was odd that the televisions were not updated to flat screens. They were also very small. Every night there was garbage or empty glasses on the grass or the walkways to the lobby. The last night they had a wedding/reception which got pretty noisy in the evening. A cracked beer bottle was outside our door. Some of the positives were the location and the pools, and the staff was pretty accomodating when we switched rooms. Unfortunately the positives are too few to make me choose a Doubletree Hotel again.
“Good hotel”
Toilet was loud and tub backed up a little bit. Nice pool and playground. Responsive staff. Overall a good facility.
“Doubletree is paradise in paradise”
We were making our seventh visit to Scottsdale and our sixth stay at the Doubletree. We are consistenly delighted with the service. The place is sooo relaxing and, even when they had to cater for a large wedding during our stay the regular guests still got the same high level of service and attention. Well done Doubletree - keep it up and we'll keeep coming back !!
“Great pick for the price!”
The hotel staff were very polite, pleasant and helpful. The two pools while not as big as at some of the other resorts are more than adequate for sitting out with friends or children. The grounds are very well maintained and pretty. The rooms are very large, I especially like the separate closet and dressing area. The fitness room is one of the better ones I've seen while traveling and I witnessed that it is cleaned thoroughly every morning. The hotel only has one small bar area, and a restaurant. it's not the type of place you stay at because of the cuisine.
“Fun,Fun”
The only incovenient part of the stay was there was little places to eat within walking distance. The hotel did have a shuttle to take us within 2 miles if it. Over all we had a very nice stay.
