“Solid performance”
Overall I think that this hotel was good value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were generally personable. The fitness center was a bonus, though a bit cramped. The biggest problem that I had with the hotel was the free wifi. It was so slow and sporadic that, at least in my room, it was not worth using. Parking was convenient and after validation, seemed to be one of the best deals in the area. I was in town for a conference at the PA convention center, about a mile walk away on Market street and 12th, and walked back and forth from the Holiday Inn. Never had any problems walking (before 8 am and after 10 pm). I would stay again.
“Great location”
We were happy with the location, price and friendly service. The only dissappointment was the cost of parking!!
“EXCELLENT LOCATION, very friendly staff!”
This hotel is located central to the historic district and is within walking distance to several sites. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a restaurant, lounge and parking within the hotel which made it convenient and safe. It was an excellent experience and would return to the hotel again for business or pleasure
“OK but better options for the money”
The room was adequate, no real bells and whistles. Reminded me of a "comfort Inn" type hotel. For the price there are better options with more amenities in the area. Staff in reception were helpful and professional. I'd probably only stay again if the price was right or needed to be in that location. My reservation included a free breakfast…when I went to reception they explained that they don't offer breakfast but gave me a coupon for $20 to use for dining. Dining room was understaffed, 2 servers with about 7 table occupied. I waited to be seated for about 5 minutes when another patron told me to seat myself. Majority of tables were dirty, sat at one that had coffee stains and was obviously used before me. Once seated I waited 15 minutes for my order to be taken….after I asked for a menu. Very disorganized. Pros: Central location to attractions, shopping and public transportation Ample street parking Free wireless internet Cons: Room was amble but lacked a wow factor, was a bit dreary. Could have used an arm chair in the room. I had to sit on bed to watch TV, read book etc. Coffee maker and ice bucket was located under end tables with no place to set it up on but on the desk. Room offered thin covers, not a fluffy down comforter often found in the better hotels. Parking $25
“Old City Stay!!!”
I Usually Stay In Center City But This Time I Chose This Old City Holiday Inn Given Its Proximity To All The Historical Culture By The Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, & Benjmain's Franklin Grave. I Was Surprised By This Place Because It Was Very Organized, Xtremely Well Run, Along With A Pleasant Staff. The Complimentary Internet, Breakfast/Restaraunt Made This A Great Place To Start Each Day. The Only Thing Missing To Make This Perfect Was A Refrigerator In The Room. Otherwise Bathroom Was Clean (a lil' dated), Room Was Nice, & Comfortably Fit 2 Adults.
“A Little Pricey”
I guess all hotels in downtown areas of big cities are expensive, but normally I pay far less for similiar acommadations. But this hotel is decent although nothing special. Maybe I'm spoiled by Expedia. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
“Only place I would stay in Philadelphia!”
Great customer service, on top of any needs or questions and location is perfect!
“Old City Philly Hotel Review”
great location great hotel in philly historic district
“Great location, decent hotel and awful breakfast buffet”
Close to everything downtown. If your focus is being out and about not sleeping accommodations, then this is perfect.
“Old City new”
Our stay at the Holiday Inn Old City turned out to be ideal for basic sightseeing. As a Philadelphian, but 50 years removed, I was sceptical, and happily encouraged to see the Arch Street Meeting right across the street. I remember that neighborhood as just this side of frightful! Recommendations by the desk serice for places to eat were just right. We arrived early and were given our room - and the day we left were given several extra hours, also. A housekeeping issue was resolved immediately. The hotel was quiet, the beds were restful.
