Expensive but limited choice

Posted 14-Jun-2014
Pros: The friendly staff and position
Cons: The hotel needs to be updated
Location: Near the Grande Place and resturants. Very convenient to the battlefields of nth France
The hotel is old but clean - needs updating. Staff were excellent - very helpful, especially Matthew. Position close to the Grande Place therefore very central to resturants.

Overnight stay

Posted 05-May-2014
Pros: The hotel is charming, rooms tiny, but comfortable, and its well situated to the main square.
Cons: Breakfast is far too expensive for what's available. All self serve. And the dinner was average, and service terrible. The
Location: The main square is walking distance, and is filled with lovely cafes, bake shops, and outside seating. A lovely spot to take in the day
We stayed one night in this hotel, which is charming, and comfortable. Our rooms were not ready upon arrival, so we left our bags and went for a stroll around the Grand Place, which is an easy walk. The proximity to this square is a big plus for this hotel. The hotel is clean, and suitable for a short stay. They need to improve their service in the dining room and consider a better option for breakfast. We actually tried to eat in the main square for breakfast but due to a holiday, nothing was open. This forced us to eat in the hotel. the breakfast is for the most part continental, and they can't even see their way to pouring coffee or tea at the table, we had to help ourselves, and yet they charge 16 Euros??

Nice hotel in centre of Arras

Posted 15-Dec-2013
Pros: The building was attractive. The room was nice, but not spectacular.
Cons: Better pillows would help. The bed was comfortable. For British visitors a greater range of UK TV channels would be good.
Location: The location is central, but it is difficult to find without at SatNav.

Charming hotel in central Arras

Posted 02-Sep-2013
Pros: Location, secure parking, clean rooms
Cons: Breakfast was fairly expensive for what it was
Location: Central Arras - easy walking distance to the main squares. Cathedral wasn't open when we were there, didn't try and go to the Musee des Beaux Arts.
Booked as a stopover about an hour from Calais - really pleasant, quiet room, easy walking distance to the main squares. Breakfast was fine, but at an additional cost. Considering returning for a weekend in the Autumn!

Elegant hotel with excellent restaurant.

Posted 27-Aug-2013
Pros: The restaurant and food.
Location: Good location, close to the heart of Arras, although unfortunately we didn't have time to explore properly.
We booked here so we could be about an hour from Calais and were very pleasantly surprised at how elegant the hotel is and how big the rooms are. However the best surprise was just how excellent the restaurant is. We chose the 26 Euro menu and each had a wonderful 3 course meal, beautifully presented and washed down with some very good wines! After a long day travelling from Annecy this turned out to be the perfect end to our holiday.

Good central location

We always stay in this hotel when we are in Arras. it is in a quiet side street in the centre of town so an ideal location for shopping or sight seeing. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the restaurant has an excellent menu. Breakfast is buffet style and there is a good variety of hot and cold food. The staff are helpful and speak English. Rooms are clean but vary in size somewhat and on this occasion ours was on the small side and rather dated compared to others we have had.

Fantasic service

Lovely hotel, well managed. Aircon would have been nice in room, but no major issue. Unfortunately there had been a bottle fight two streets away in the night....blood all over the pavement, when we walked the dog in the morning . .....Clearly nothing the hotel could have done about this.Great for us that the hotel allowed us to take the dog with us, in fact she was welcomed by the staff. All in all the hotel could not have done more for us.....Thank you.

Lots of character

The hotel is like a secret place tucked away in a little backwater in the centre of the city. It is well run and very comfortable. There is a private car park but you need to book your spot before you arrive.
