Mediocre Hotel and Out of the Way

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: - the beds were comfortable - room was generally clean
Cons: - customer service - integrity in their advertising (e.g., Free WIFI that is unusable due to restrictions) - stop charging for every little thing
Location: - 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower - 5 minute walk to the Metro
Overall not a good experience: - the hotel room was quite small - hotel staff are not welcoming or friendly - free WIFI really means 1mb every two hours (which is nothing) or you can pay an unreasonable amount for a little more (none of this is included on their website) - if you want to use the pool men must wear speedos and all swimmers must wear a swim cap based on laws established in 1903 (time for France to join the 21st century and recognize that chemicals keep pools clean not tight bathing suits) - staff was very rude in the fitness centre going so far as to laugh at me for not knowing the pool rules - costs more if you want to use the television which includes the most outdated TV internet I've seen - most days I had to ask for fresh towels or the complimentary bottles of water - not located near anything but the Eiffel Tower - addressed some of my issues with the manager who gave me free unlimited high speed Internet access - no idea where that came from because it wasn't in any of their published materials - addressed my concerns to Novotel's Head Office - no response

Nice hotel, good location

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff were really helpful, any time of the day or night
Cons: Just the shop to sell swimming hats as it's a hotel requirement so should be available
Location: Was a great location to get to experience Paris so was very happy as was only there for a few days and managed to see most things
Everything was really good, would've been great if the shop sold swimming hats so we could've used the pool...was a bit disappointed as I use a pool most days for my illness as it helps

Good Location, Good Service.

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Helpful staff. Clean. Good location. The mini fridge supplied in our room was very useful - it's not a stocked mini bar, just a fridge.
Cons: Room comfort, fixtures, fittings, attention to detail within the room to bring it up to four star quality.
Location: The Metro "Charles Michel" was our nearest functioning station - very helpful staff there made a great difference to our experience.
A five night stay for a family of two adults & two children in August. Staff were helpful, professional and polite. Our room on the 17th floor looked out over the city and the Seine, a spectacular view. Although clean, the room was 'tired' with minor damage to fixtures & fittings. The bed was comfortable although the bed settee less so. When opened the frame of the bed settee presented a hazard for anyone attempting to squeeze past it to get to the tv, other side of the bed or the window. After the first few knocks to knees and shins this was eventually avoided. The room was more two star than 4 star but served it's purpose as an adequate base for exploring Paris. We'd researched the use of the pool so the terms & conditions weren't a problem to us. Speedo's, Swim Caps & the ability to sit and wait until a space in the pool becomes available are all essential. Patience & politeness got us much further in this respect than the frustration and anger displayed by some hotel guests. When we asked for the Continental Breakfast in the bar (Adults 8 Euros, kids free) this came as some surprise to hotel staff but they were obliging and very helpful. To the rear of the hotel, towards the Metro Charles Michel, is a Monoprix supermarket which can make dining even more affordable. La Tour Eiffel is 10 to 15 minutes walk away and the Japanese Restaurant located on that road was the best value for money of any eatery we encountered - just be prepared to speak French !

Really good hotel

Posted 08-Aug-2014
This hotel is a really good base if you want to be in Central Paris, the Effiel Tower is a ten min walk away, also if you come out the hotel and go left there is a cinema on the corner also next door there is a shopping mall with M&S and various other eating places, the hotel staff were excellent and would go out of there way to help you with anything, the only downside was we got to the hotel at 11 am but couldn't check into 2 pm that day and I had my 5 yr grandson with me so a 3 hr wait to actually book into the hotel was too long so if going book a flight to accommodate this.

Pleasant location.

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: Clean room, friendly efficient staff, convenient location.
Cons: Dining facilities, seating around swimming pool and ditections to access.
Location: Within walking distance (10mins) of Eiffel Tower and river cruises, also Metro stations.
Attractive view from hotel room, conveniently situated for many tourist attractions in Paris.
