Close to the metro

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: The proximity to a metro station and the free wifi.
Cons: Toilet and shower facilities and accessibility of the rooms.
Location: The hotel was situated very close to a metro station and in walking distance of Mont Martre.
The hotel was positioned very close to a metro station so was very convenient, however it was not the most desirable area of Paris. The staff were friendly and helpful enough, but there were several occasions when there was no one at the reception. Our room was situated on the 2nd floor but there was no lift, just a spiral staircase which was difficult to climb with a suitcase. The room was small but comfortable, there was a wash basin and shower in the room, which didn't give any privacy and the toilets were situated on the stairs. There was no where to hang clothes and the windows were difficult to open and close.

Terrific location!

Very close to the metro and Gare du Nord station. No elevator so you have to walk up all flights of stairs. Currently going through renovations so noisy during the day but not bad. Staff are terrific! Very accommodating and knowledgeable. Would stay again! Only downfall is toilet is outside of room. But shower and sink are in your room.

Overall the hotel was not too bad and I would probably rate it a 7 out of 10. Pros include (1) friendly staff (2) close to the metro train station (3) comfortable bedding. Cons (1) rooms where not sound proof (2) toliet room was very cramped (3) slow internet.

Much better than anticipated

Pros: Perfectly okay for a cheap stay. Clean, pleasant staff, and good location.
Cons: Toilets could be bigger, and obviously, more showers and power points would be a plus.
Location: Sacre Couer very near by.
After already having booked this hotel, I felt like cancelling it after reading some of the online comments about it, as of the last six months. I persevered though, and was pleasantly surprised. The Hotel About 500m from Gare du Nord station. Very convenient to Sacre Couer, Moulin Rouge and to centre of Paris. The hotel is still undergoing renovations, but was quiet during the afternoon and night. There is a toilet on each floor - quite small, and of a hostel standard rather than a hotel, but hey, that's most Parisian (and European) hotels for you. It was clean, and that's what matters. There were two hostel like showers on the third floor - didn't use them though, but they looked fine. The Room I stayed in room number 1. The room was clean and tidy. Powerpoints are an issue, but there is a TV in the room that can be unplugged and its point used. There was a basin and bidet. Linen was freshly laundered. Bed was comfortable. The Staff Pleasant and efficient. You drop the key off at reception on the way out - came back at about 11.30pm and was let in promptly (though no ID was asked for when I picked up my room key, which is a no-no). The Location Close to Gare du Nord. Lots of cafes/bistros/patisseries about. Close to metro. Just off a main street, so a little noisy during the day, but very quiet during the night. A few dodgy characters on the way from Gare du Nord encountered, but hey, that's Paris for you!
