“we'll definitely come back”
We loved it here, quiet, relaxings, beautiful grounds.
“Fun Family Get away”
Best deal/place in Palm Springs for a Family trip!
“Good deal compared to a hotel room.”
The Marriott Shadow Ridge is for people who don't like to be nickel and dimed by hotel resorts. It has more room, like a condo, but no meal service, so you have to prepare your own meals if you don't want to eat at restaurants the whole time. Although we stayed in a renovated room, the cleanliness could have been better and I had to complain to the front desk when the maid left the tub dirty and the room barely cleaned and dusted. They sent someone to fix it within an hour, though. Also, the toilet ran incessantly. Once I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they sent a repairman right away. Checkin was the only hiccup. The promised check in time passed and it was almost 4:30 p.m. before we could get into our suite and we were exhausted after a cross-country journey. The front desk blamed it on a shortage of cleaning staff. Not a good excuse for a luxury Marriott property. Overall, it's a beautiful property with spacious, comfortable suites, swimming pools and plenty of golfing for those who love that sport. I would recommend it as a good value for the money. The surrounding area was nice too.
“Perfect place to Mini Moon”
The location was beautiful. The room beyond fantastic. My husband and I felt like were at home, but a better version of home. The room was huge. The beds were comfortable, hand having a full kitchen made everything so convenient. It was wonderful to cook breakfast and then enjoy it on the balcony. We were lost in our room and didn't feel the need to leave much. And if we did leave there was a pool bar near by that served food and drinks. We couldn't have been happier to have stayed here for our mini-honeymoon.
“OK, if you like kids!”
If you're a young, party couple without kids, don't stay here! There were families with kids everywhere, at all the pools (we did not check out the "quiet pool" because there was no bar). The next time I go to a resort, I will make sure it is for adults only. However, our room was very nice and comfortable and had a door that went out to a private, grassy area with rabbits running around. The parking was covered and we found a spot right in front of our room. The pools were nothing special and there is no on-site restaurant that serves breakfast (I didn't notice if they have room service or not). For a 1-night stay, it's too much of a hassle...
“I'll go back for sure!!”
All the hotel staff was really acomodating. The fascilities are gorgeous!! The only down side i see is that since there is a lot of older people you cant really make that much noise perhaps at night. So if you plan to have a calm vacation w/ your family this is great, however not w/ your buddies to get drunk!!
“Perfect Experience (from a Very Picky Traveler)”
Stellar service from start to finish. We accidentally arrived early so we had to wait for a room, but they called me back 15 minutes later for early check in. This resort only hires professionals, and excellence is obvious from management on down. Facilities were clean, clean clean; no loud kids running everywhere, no excuses by the desk staff, no trash blowing around the pool for 2 days like we found at Rancho Las Palmas. One spa wasn't working but the resort has 4 pools and other spas. The infinity pools were delicious, especially at dusk. The layout of the resort is sort of odd, resembling two rows of apartment houses, but there wasn't a speck of dirt, scuff or smudge anywhere, and quality showed in the details. While our room was sort of small, it was so well-designed and decorated, you still felt you were in a premium room, because you were. Love the kitchenette complete with dishes, glassware, cutlery, toaster, fridge and microwave. (I don't golf but my co-workers who do told me they liked it there, for what it's worth.) After being horribly treated at Rancho Las Palmas and Doral Princess and others, I was looking for things to criticize, but there never were any. I've never encountered a more professional, intelligent desk staff, ever. This went a long way towards making it a real resort experience where you could "leave your troubles behind" and feel at home. I've stayed at dozens of resorts in the Palm Springs area, and this was by far the best experience.
“It will be our first Hotel option for next year.”
Our travel was for Indian Wells Tennis tournament but even though it is few minutes away of the area of interest I would stay again in this Marriot Hotel.
“Mariott Shadow Ridge”
Guest room that we rented was a attached to a condo but had a minikichen with microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, and some dishes. Only the first package of coffee was supplied.
“Nice Getaway”
We have been to this hotel before and booked the room through Expedia again. Since there are no photos on the site of each room we booked the least expensive one as we were going to be there for a couple of days. We thought we booked a studio room just like before. Much to our surprise, when we opened the door, we had a spacious 1 room villa! The bed was very comfortable and there was a huge spa tub and seperate tub. Everything was upgraded and the other room was huge. It was more room that my hubby and I needed but it was fantastic! The pool area was a short walk away and there was no shortage of lounge chairs and towels. Another great thing is that all of the restaurants and shops are short drive away as well. We will be back again soon!
